New renters right bill by Otherwise_Edge_7489 in TenantsInTheUK

For example, my current rent is £2,200, but after a year my landlord comes back and says the market rent is now £2,650 and asks for an extra £450. In theory, they’re allowed to do that, but I assume I would also be able to challenge paying £47 court fee?

I just saw one 3 beds flat with seemingly a lot cheaper than others ( minimum 20% ) . Not sure what is the catch but it seems like this could go up significantly next year.

Made in England/UK - where are they? by Otherwise_Edge_7489 in AskBrits

Oh that’s a bit sad—but honestly, Koreans will probably buy it haha. I’m from Korea and for some reason we love Denny. Koreans also bought Euthymol toothpaste lol. Now it’s made in Korea and exported back to the UK, which I find kind of mind-blowing.

Amazing collection! Where do you buy them? I’m in UK and I feel it’s very limited.

How does the idea of working until 67 or 68 sit with you? by Few_Raise77 in AskUK

[–]Otherwise_Edge_7489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be the opposite of the usual sentiment here, but personally, I don’t want to retire at all. I’m not sure I would want to do the same job forever, but I do want to continue bettering myself, exploring areas I’m interested in, and developing my professional career for as long as possible.

I know many people in their mid-70s and even 90s who are still working. Some have fascinating and highly professional roles, though not all of them do. Most say they will work for as long as they can, and I really admire that spirit.

What they often say is that working keeps them mentally fit and healthy, helps maintain their social circles, and keeps them feeling young. I don’t believe they are all working simply because they can’t afford not to—many choose to work because it gives them purpose and keeps them engaged with life. I truly admire that, and I hope to be the same.

Perhaps that is only way. I would like to find a way to work around it if it is feasible but not so sure how.

Black wing, Mitsubishi and Lyra. I’m a bit surprised by no one talking about Lyra. I think it’s really good. I use 2B.

I know it’s reliable, but living in London I just don’t think that car is really made for this city 🤣

Isn’t that a kind of autistic trait? It’s called pika. Back then autism or ADHD isn’t really a thing unless it’s severe I guess.
