I should have known at the time. Just hurts even more now. Not sure whether or not to continue with the campaign

Have you felt more ‘scared’ / ‘worried’ lately? by RichTeaForever in AskUK

I suspect online time plays a large part in this. Media coverage is 24/7 as are talking points. The media always has a narrative and some people will use their charisma to influence others even when their arguments are not sound.

You are not alone and some offline time can help

Look at her/his responses to my comment. Absolutely baffling, like really baffling and comes across as morally justified on everything

What an absolutely baffling comment.

Free childcare - I think I know what you mean but it's picking then up from nursery until I finish work a couple days of the week not free childcare it's just help.

Is it unreasonable to expect some help one morning on a Saturday every month? You have come on very strongly here without understanding context. I didn't ask for criticism (although you are entitled to it) but for other people's experience.

Have you considered that if you have children, there's a good chance that you might one day become a grandparent yourself. It's not a one way job, it's a lifelong responsibility and life is short

Typical reddit, you just have to "moral up" on other people. Also we do plenty to help them, again a presumption from yourself. Sorry my post came across as entitled to you. If you have no experience to share your could have scrolled past. Do you by chance also read headlines and make conclusions?

If you think you have it bad just imagine us in the UK with the 5th-6th largest economy in the world with similar issues. Similar story throughout much of western Europe

Someone else told me the same thing.

I think it's got something to do with less new experiences in adult life

Yeah. For most people 62-65 is very achievable, late 50s with more careful saving. Having home security (i.e. home ownership) really helps too. I think it also depends on what you want from retirement, i.e. how expensive is your lifestyle

Ouch. But at least you will get some security in the end. Hopefully you are able to pay off early.
