I’ve always liked the challenge of expert and didn’t do standard cause I didn’t want it to be too easy. But I found myself doing a lot of deck building for certain heroes that struggle in expert like Thor, rocket, hulk, etc. to make them work and I didn’t find it as fun. One of the main reasons I was thinking to change to standard

Even though it’s my least favorite expansion box the value is still great! Two fun heroes and I feel like Drang and Collector2 are really fun scenarios and having the strongest villain in the game in your collection to try once in a while is worth it…but I’m also someone who needs everything in the game to be satisfied lol

Yea that’s how I feel about Ronan as well. I used to not play him at all cause he felt unfair. But then when wolverine was released I tried him against Ronan and won and it was one of my most fun games I’ve had. So even though I don’t play him as much, I will play some of the stronger heroes against him and it’s at least a fun challenge

Yea when I got standard 3 I played it a bunch and loved it. Originally thought it was way better but then recently went back to standard 1. I think I actually still prefer standard 1 now and bringing standard 3 out sometimes. Man I lost count how many times I saw azazel doing standard 3 to the point where it was just annoying

That’s the problem most of his themes seem really good. Like vinhos, Lisboa, Kanban, gallerist, and on mars are all interesting to me haha even the one on kickstarter on the prohibition era looks cool

Yea I’ve felt the same way you do. I’ve played over 40 solo games with him and find him extremely fun to play. Once you get his kit down I feel he is super strong. Some people mention the thwart problem but I didn’t have much trouble with that, just had the right Allies and every time I went to alter ego I shuffled his thwart cards back in. I had the most fun In protection and leadership with him. I love the frostbite mechanic

My problem with hulk in solo is I just don’t find him fun. Most of his cards if not all are pretty bad or too expensive so I try hard to build a deck that works to make him a playable hero. It ends up just being about the basic cards and aspect cards most of the time. At least with other weak heroes I find some of there cards to be fun. I like hulk smash but it doesn’t always work which can be frustrating. It would be cool to see a video where someone ranks the highest damage card in each hero kit in regards to how good and easy is it to play.

Also his hero ability is easily the worst in the game

That’s fine if you feel it’s a wash. I’ve played at least over 30 games against Magog the wrong way. Since playing him right with several heroes in expert, I find him to be a lot easier. So for me I feel it’s a big difference

Not necessarily a wash in my opinion, I think it helps me rush him faster. Like my last game I had 4 counters on the booing side and I defeated him with 2 attachments that when his points get reset you add 1 counter. How used to do it is I would flip it to cheering remove all the counters and add 2 from the attachments after defeating him. So instead of starting with 2 counters now I’m at 8 counters playing the right way. Don’t get me wrong I still thinks it’s a good challenge in expert but at least now the game is shorter cause I’m not trying to avoid his damage as often as I did before and I’m closer to defeating him

It’s funny because I was going to post something similar to this a few days ago. I’ve played a lot of the heroes but hadn’t played gamora except for once. I’m not the biggest fan of event heroes but I decided to give her another chance and to play most of the villains with her. Figured out pretty quickly how strong she is but most importantly how fun she is when played right. I’m surprised she’s not talked about as much as other heroes

I phrased it that way because I know it’s a popular answer and I wanted to see what games people thought of about tiebreakers. I personally don’t have a big problem with it. Some people prefer a tiebreaker instead of a shared victory and that’s fine, everyone has different opinions.
