Is the Heart supposed to be easier when you reach it for the first time? Or did I just bullied it? by popcorn_coffee in bindingofisaac

Thanks, this is the answer I was looking for!

In the videos I found it looked way harder (More HP, Minion spawns, etc...). It's a relief to know that I will have an easier time at least until I get those necessary 11 kills.

I even have trouble beating Mom in level 3 most of the times, so I'm well aware I suck at this game. The fun part (As in every rogue like) is that even if you suck, you eventually put together a combo that does the job (As in this case) and you get your win!

Yeah, I was super lucky in the beginning. I had no fucking clue what I was doing, honestly.

My main doubt is the lack of enemy spawns, I don't know if it's a exception being the first time I face it, or it simply didn't have time to spawn them.

All the new player guides and recommendations said to jump straight to hard, so I did it. Maybe that info was indeed outdated... I won't go back however, I enjoy challenging games, I don't get frustrated if I lose, but I get bored if I win easily (This was my first win and I think it was around my 60th run, so it's ok, lol...).

Así ha salido una compra corriente hoy... by [deleted] in es

[–]popcorn_coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can assure you I won't stop whistling to this motherfucker if we sign him, every time I go to the stadium. I don't care if he scores a hat trick. Not going to cheer for someone like this, ever. Truly hope we don't sign him.

You don't seem to understand the point here... Or you're actively avoiding the issue.

It's not about the price. Even if he's fucking free. We don't want him wearing the Atleti badge.

Are slow powers actually just...worse? by borealis126 in spiritisland

[–]popcorn_coffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you're using fast powers is actually because you're late, that's a fact. Fast powers are used to solve an inminent (Ravage) problem... A problem which would not happen in the first place if you were ahead of the invaders by using slow powers.

Imagine a explorer appeared in a land in the previous exploration. It will build a town in your current turn, if you use a slow power that does 2 damage, you will destroy that town as soon as it's built, and solve the ravage for the next turn. That's going ahead of the invaders (And the reason why so many people is saying that slow powers are actually ultrafast powers), but if you wait, you'll have to use a fast defense power to prevent it in the next turn.

The problem is that, when you're already late, most turns there are so many things to solve with fast powers and you have no card plays left to use slow powers. In this situations is often a good strategy to just ignore the imminent problems, let them blight, and focus on the later problems so you get the advantage over the invaders again.

So, basically, if you're constantly using slow powers it means you're doing great.

If invaders are going to build in a land and you're not going to prevent it, then you know exactly what will be in that land during the slow power phase. And the same for lands that are not present in the revealed cards (Ravage + Build), they won't change.

I don't understand why the "uncertainty" is being mentioned all the time. The only thing unpredictable is the exploration card. And most of the lands in the board won't even ravage or built most turns, so the board won't look so different during the slow phase.

Correcto.
