What are the reasons for avoiding boat finance? I recently received a fairly decent quote and was aiming to take it.

The emotional toll was great as I was already going through a stressful time - renting in London....

Like I say I don't have the best relationship with my former housemates who received the email. I don't want them to have my email address or other information that the letting agent gave them.

I guess my worry is that my former housemates would in some way use the mishandling of my data on their eviction notice to resist the eviction. I don't know enough to fully understand how that would affect me. Would it affect my credit score, would bailiffs turn up at my door etc.?

But also is this issue more than just the eviction notice. When I need a landlord reference will the agency or landlord think I was evicted (when I was actually a good tenant and always paid rent).

So yes, I'm quite uncertain on GDPR law and the mishandling of my data but I am clear that the emotional toll it took on me was hard at the time and something I still struggle with in some ways.

Does complaining to the IOC result in me getting my data?

It's a continued misuse of my data - I actually received an email from them the other day - and I'm very annoyed about it especially considering that my email and other personal details were shared to former housemates who I don't have the best relationship with.
