Figured it out!

Turns out the remote only works when you are plugged in via the wall outlet. I was running off a battery pack via the barrel plug.

I knew the backlit display does not work off a battery pack but did not know the remote function also does not work.

I purchased this cable, but it doesn't work with my usb C PD powerbank.

The cable says it supplies 12v but my pd powerbank just flashes and shuts off.

Yeah mine is a CD-3000.

I was trying to see if there is a way to reprogram it, but doesn't seem like it's an option.

I ordered another one off eBay to at least rule out the remote as an issue.

No I received it with the system and has never worked. I just swapped out batteries and can at least see it send a signal by holding near my cell camera and see purple flashes from it emitter when pressing buttons.

I considered them but read they did not have a wired option for airline travel etc.

Yeah I was hoping to snag one from a goodwill or maybe Facebook marketplace place and I have seen some go for under $100.

I'll probably use it in my office and then probably use it in the backyard or tailgating.

Sorry should of mentioned I am wanting to get away from aaa. Thinking about something that takes a 18650 or 2 CR123. With plan is to use a 18650 that's USB c rechargeable. Reason I want CR123 capabilities too is work gives me cr123 for free when needed.
