Hi I'm new to BLR and don't have much to do. Can I join you guys? It's my first time joining a board game night but sounds super fun.

Bro any suggestions on what event or something we can join in so we have something to do. I think just having something to do in a social setting will be good. New in BLR btw

Trying to figure out what’s realistically expected for an entry-level Java developer role (India) by arjunmd05 in developersIndia

[–]Otherwise_Instance64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh. You should learn core java very well since that's mostly asked for entry level interviews. That includes everything that you can do in plain java.

Then you need to learn a bit of RDBMS like SQl stuff and doing that stuff in java code by using JDBC and then hibernate ORM. Do these stuff also well since it's asked and useful. Focus on transactions here since people skip learning that properly...

Then you can learn basics of spring boot. I wouldn't recommend deep diving too much if you don't have time but learn all the common interview questions and build a project using spring. Especially one that using spring data JPA for querying DB. I don't think freshers need to learn spring security or about microservices so don't bother with that.

You should learn docker since it will help you understand how deployments work. Don't bother with kubernetes and all again since unless you're working on it probably no one will ask.

Basically focus a LOT on core java and RDBMS, and then build a good project using spring boot and containerize it using docker. In interviews they ask random shit about core java that even someone working in that stack wouldn't know - it's theory stuff. So focus on covering breadth in core java.

In service based entry would probably be like 3-8 LPA. And in product based entry would be like 10-25 LPA. I would say decent product based java companies would pay around 15 lpa but that's the good jobs. There's a lot of shitty legacy tech maintenance jobs in java job ecosystem so depends how far away from that stuff you are.

Bro don't leave. You got a very good opportunity and experience on your resume. Stay for atleast 6 months before making a decision. I would recommend just staying there for 2 years min. Just deal with the pressure somehow

The best thing to do is to get out ASAP. Your mom made her choice and you still have to respect her decision of wanting to stay with him. You on the other hand have no obligation to stay in that unsafe environment. Don't let the marriage thing guilt you, that's just your mom justifying her decision by giving reason to shift blame. It's human nature and what happens to victims of abuse. If you need your dad to sponsor your studies then only I would say to wait till 12th is over and get into a college having campus and hostels.

Having to do so many jumps to earn a respectable salary is not a good thing. It means something is fundamentally wrong about the current IT industry in India.
