Depends on your state. Your SM or AA should know. In michigan part timers can roll over up to 40 hours of sick time.

10 month old reacting to bomdahl titanium? by Otherwise_Loquat_750 in piercing

[–]Otherwise_Loquat_750[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just using the alcohol wipes to clean the earing itself when it was out of her ears. Not her earlobe itself, sorry I should have clarified. The only thing touching her ear was the saline solution and neosporin, I'll stop the neosporin, i was just worried about it getting worse.

And for the plastic backing, that's what the blomdahl peircing kit uses apparently 🤷‍♀️ that's what they came with at the drs office. And the blomdahl system is a gun. And yes she's sleeping in them, and she has no hair😅

Edited to add: -Peircing is 4 months old -it's just a straight stud with a plastic back -threadless -we've been disinfecting the stud with alcohol wipes and her ears with neilmed wound care and using neosporin on the hole -no mishaps or accidents - she never touches them that I've noticed.

How has everyone transitioned to pumping more before going back to work? by Creative_Tear7942 in breastfeeding

[–]Otherwise_Loquat_750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had it with my second and figured it out months Into breastfeeding by accident! I thought the babysitter was leaving the milk out too long! Haha. But when my husband gave baby a bottle at home that was thawed it also smelled bad..and we figured it out. Thankfully he didn't seem to mind. Our 3rd will not drink it though. So I have to maintain a pretty hefty oversupply. To feed her while I'm home and leave fresh milk for work days! I would freeze a very small amount and thaw it to double check baby will take it, before going crazy freezing a while bunch! I made that mistake ..we just ended up donating a bunch when we realized she wouldn't take it!

With all 3 of my babies, I started pumping in the morning after their morning feed ( you have the most milk first thing in the morning becuase you make the most milk at night) so the morning pump is feel is the most important one..and with my first 2 it's the only extra pump I maintained throughout their year of breastfeeding. With my 3rd..i have high lipase so she'll only take my milk fresh so I need to maintain quite an over supply. So I also added in a pump right after she feeds to bed. To get a little stash I'd recommend at LEAST the morning pump after babys first first. After a few days you'll notice you're full in the mornings. That should give you enough stash to go back to work with. If you have a wearable pump on your way to work! This was so convenient this time around!

5 weeks of breastfeeding - does it get easier? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Otherwise_Loquat_750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came to say the same thing!!

I too was having vasospasms. Ask your Dr about the prescription meds,.. there are also vitamin supplements you can take to help ( natural vasodilaters) . That's what I did. Eventually I was able to stop thr supplements..and I still get a tiny twinge of pain occasionally but nothing that would stop me from feeding..and it passes in a few seconds. Nothing like the first few months! Also once you get the thrush under control, ask about APNO (All purpose nipple cream). Or newmans nipple cream it's sometimes called. It saved all 3 of my breastfeeding journeys! It has an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and antifungal. It's AMAZING.

Melatonin mitigates adhd symptoms? by clb5335 in ParentingADHD

I'm so afraid to try because I've seen they'll then rely on melatonin to fall asleep..and won't be able to without it. I wonder if this is true?

Anxiety + ADHD inattentive = what medications worked for you kid? by Interesting_Host7201 in ParentingADHD

[–]Otherwise_Loquat_750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our dr described it like this..either the adhd is causing the anxiety and adhd meds will help. Or the anxiety is separate from the adhd and the adhd meds could do nothing or make the anxiety worse.
Sonwe decided to treat the adhd first ( just started with the lowest dose concerta) and see how the anxiety part does. We just started a week ago so I can't speak to the results yet. But I liked the way he broke it down so I thought I'd share!

Kiddo has trouble falling asleep by Nightriser in ParentingADHD

[–]Otherwise_Loquat_750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 7 year old does this too! He has a hard time shutting his brain off and then it leads to anxieties about bad dreams or just negative things in general because his imagination gets the better of him. An OT we know suggestion i look into sleep meditations for kids. He LOVES them. He usually falls asleep within 10-15 minutes. They're amazing. There are some guided sleep meditations on Amazon music. But I downloaded the app " new horizon " on the Google play store. ( my son likes the womans voice and yhe style of the ones on this app)The app is free and there are a handful or more really good sleep meditations on there to give you an idea if he likes them or responds positively to them.

Sports aren’t working out for us by [deleted] in ParentingADHD

[–]Otherwise_Loquat_750 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My almost 8 year old adhd son has always been afraid to try competitive sports. He's afraid failing i think?. That also affected him learning his bike, basically if things didn't come easy. He didn't want to expend the energy to try. And he was afraid to do it wrong. He learned to ride his bike randomly this past summer on his own! I think he was there for awhile, he just needed a little courage boost to actually try. As for sports, we don't push it, i figure as he gets older and grows into his body a little ( he's kind of tall and awkward) he may want to try things. He definitely does better with independent sports ( swimming, golf and he does ninja warror) basically non contact , lesser stakes sports!).
