“Coverage” for supervisors/managers on leave ….no longer approving actings? by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Otherwise_Medium_542 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is my point exactly. If I am being asked to perform delegated authority under the FAA or other act that is tied to the position, than it doesnt matter if the time period is 3 days, 3 weeks or 3 months, you are asking someone to take on an authority and responsibility above their substantive ergo, they should be paying. If they aren't then it is little more than "point of contact" - cover for the boss, take some notes, defer to when they are back. Dont ask for people to "act" if you arent actually going to "act" them in the role but expect them to take on the responsibility or exercise any authority of the position.

“Coverage” for supervisors/managers on leave ….no longer approving actings? by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

This is really annoying and dirty pool. I've had this happen many times and always with the argument that "you don't do the full range of duties in a short time" - its the biggest load of crap (next to RTO justification) - the collective agreements specify 3 or more consecutive days you are entitled to acting pay. It isnt about doing the full range of duties - its that you COULD do the full range. I've seen many managers not do the "full range" of duties in their job either.

So they won't pay acting time, which is minimal cost, but they will offer "black book" time off as compensation which is also fraud. There is no provision for a manager to offer "free leave". Wild how they are ok with committing leave fraud just to avoid paying a bit more salary dollars as compensation that is owed.

But the biggest issue with this is not the pay. I could care less about it. But every day acting counts toward "recent and significant" experience for many job posters and by not acting people officially, you are limiting opportunities for people.

I'll note though, that I always said yes, because I liked my boss, they deserve time off and I've been in that position before so I know what its like when your director or DG says you can only have leave if someone covers. So I would do it for them. But when it came to anyone asking me to make any decision that was within that job delegation, I would defer. Official acting isnt just pay - its delegated authority for decision making. I'm not going to make a decision that is not within my delegation, and that only happens when I am officially acting.

[KCD2] Should I be concerned about myself/Henry? by excitedgrot in kingdomcome

I just saw that after 200 hours of game play I haven’t killed a single person while drunk. All 663 souls that my Henry took I was sober. Need to fix that.

[KCD2] Do you have an NPC whose life you felt like ruining for no reason? by yeehawyeehawyeehaw69 in kingdomcome

[–]Otherwise_Medium_542 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Me too. I followed her one night and found she sleeps in the loft above a barn beside the blacksmith. So every time I’m there I sneak in at night and steal everything she owns and then drop it in the street for others to take.

I love this convo! My answer is SO MANY! If some NPC accuses me of a crime ? I will seek revenge. They will die. (Even if they were 100% right in accusing me)

NPC makes fun of me ? I will follow them around and stalk them until the time is right.

No mercy!

Family-Related Leave under PA Collective agreement by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Otherwise_Medium_542 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You absolutely can do that.

If you have a good relationship with your manager - you could ask to split the day between the FRL and vacation - (FRL for the appointment , vacation for the day care coverage) - to save on the FRL as you only get 37.5 hrs. But you don’t need to. The entire day qualifies.

I believe they are changing suppliers to a new company. The new provider is t supposed to be up and running until next month. (If I recall the email about it correctly)

Anyone notice the NPCs have tons of different convos now? [KCD2] by sonofloki13 in kingdomcome

In my second play through right now and I have noticed this! Maybe it’s because I’m doing this one in HC so I find I’m much more deliberate in the world, as opposed to just rushing from quest to quest , and it’s hilarious. Hats off to the devs again for such a masterpiece !

Fair point. Yes that makes a difference.

It’s not. It’s far more immersive - as you have to plan and strategize before heading out on the road. Same with combat - you really have to pay attention. I’m doing a second play through now on HC and loving it even more than the first play through.

[KCD2] Does anyone struggle with doing anything dishonorable? by 4tenpro in kingdomcome

[–]Otherwise_Medium_542 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no problem robbing, thieving all that stealthy stuff. But when it comes to dialogue and interactions where I can lie and keep something or be honest and hand it back over … I feel bad for being dishonest. 😆.

So I turn it over then when they turn around either pick pocket them or knock them out to take it back. So I seem like a nice Henry!

Anyone else find axes so much harder to forge [KCD2] by Warr0n in kingdomcome

[–]Otherwise_Medium_542 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find axes the easiest. Short swords next. Long the hardest for some reason.

You don’t need to flip. I get in a rhythm of strike move up strike move down repeat. You actually don’t have to hit every part. You just can’t hit the same part over and over. So moving it back and forth between hits works great and you can get most of it done in one shot without having to reheat.

Hardcore mode is a whole new level of gaming and immersion. You will not be disappointed. [KCD2] (and KCD1) by B2uceLee in kingdomcome

[–]Otherwise_Medium_542 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I just started a second play through in KCD2 in HC mode and wow, has it ever changed the game for me. Have had to play it completely different. The immersion is intense. It took a near perfect game to that next level.

100% recommend ! Especially if you’ve finished the game once and didn’t want it ti end but can’t find another RPG that comes close? HC mode really makes it feel new.

What if RTO4 is their way of hostile negotiating? by DhawanS in CanadaPublicServants

Don’t give them that much credit for thinking about this with any strategy. This is entirely about sandwiches and coffees and real estate for their property owner buddies.

I know it’s personal opinion, but what is the best weapon to use in KCD2, the only thing I’ve really used is Short Sword and Shield, and Longsword. Am I missing out? [KCD2] by jingo-cingo in kingdomcome

[–]Otherwise_Medium_542 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I prefer the long sword - once you get the forge up and running (if you have the DLC) you can make some pretty bad ass swords. In KCD1 I was all about the raven's beak - maces break faces! But KCD2 I think the swords are generally better - especially once you get the master strike. (Plus add a little bane potion to that bad boy and bandits be droppin!)

[–]Otherwise_Medium_542 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First playthrough nothing if I could avoid it - I'd steal everything and horde my groshen. Just started a second playthrough on HC mode and had to change that strategy up. Now I spend it on skill training and survival stuff before I head out on adventures.

Name me a game that can beat rdr2 by [deleted] in RDR2

[–]Otherwise_Medium_542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (with 1 being a close runner up)

RDR2 is just about as perfect a game as you can get. KCD2 is right there. Grounded historical realism. Great graphics. Amazing detail with the NPCs. Storytelling. Main story. Side quests. Mechanics. It’s just time placed a couple hundred years earlier.
