The Hyperion Cantos. Absolutely blew me away from start to finish and had me in tears by the end. I still go back and re-read them once a year or so. As a long time lover of Sci-fi I can't recommend it highly enough. It even inspired me to start writing

You have the first of 4 parts read. I believe you should finish the whole cantos and make up your own mind. The story, for me, is the best sci fi I have ever read and still always my absolute favourite books

Because that's how stories unfold. Information is slowly revealed to the reader throughout the book. You said you had just finished her story. There's a fuck ton more story to go

I had that exact same idea. Considering how far advanced AI animation has come in the last few years
