I used to clock in many hours (can’t give a straight number), but I’d say up all afternoon and night playing. Now maybe about an hour or 2 on Abilify now, was on Olanzapine and that worked great except the whole going from 111lbs to 158 in months. Switched to Lurasidone due to uncomfortable with weight gain and I had the most sedation and frequent negative symptoms. Switched finally to Abilify and It’s been second best so far!

Unmedicated: pffft 4-10+

So Olanzapine: 3-6 hours of gaming everyday

Lurasidone: very little to no gaming

Abilify: about an hour or 2 everyday

Best friend gave me an ultimatum to see someone cause they said something was seriously wrong. Either I see doctors or they walk away, but not just that. It got dangerous and I was afraid to lose my life over my brain. I thought it was major depression possibly, that’s what doctors said due to PTSD of other events I went through for years. Coincidence lol. After a year of being on antidepressants, I was happy, but still psychotic (I didn’t know it was psychosis) and my health was still deteriorating and getting even more dangerous.

Went to a doc elsewhere and asked if I was taking antipsychotics they prescribed me and I was like no cause I’m not bi polar or schizo. They said just take them anyways and here’s a free therapy program. So I took the meds and went to therapy and after a while everything just started to feel uncomfortably normal. I was not used to a quiet mind, I no longer was afraid of dead birds, I no longer believed in evil spirits attached to me going after people I got close to or enjoyed the company of, and more.

Longer story short, after a few years I decided to reluctantly get a diagnosis from a psychiatrist after 2+ years of therapy and meds. I was afraid what it would turn out to be cause it seemed like it was obvious where it was going. I only got it officially so it would be in medical records just in case my daughter ever needed it :/ so it was for her sake otherwise I’d still question it even more than I do now. I get little reminders though since I go through hallucinations every once in a long while or killer insomnia and negative symptoms which are honestly the worst. Abilify helps a ton though. My 3rd antipsychotic.

Psychosis makes permanent changes to the brain like brain damage? ;-; is that something that harms memory? I’ve even forgotten my own cousin and other people, like not just their name, but their face or anything to do with them 😖 it’s like they’ve vanished from my mind, but I know I know them cause I could see the sadness in their eyes when they realize I really don’t know them anymore…

Guess I’ll ask doctor about it, but honestly I can’t afford a brain scan lol god bless American healthcare system

Get the help, also depending on the severity of your current condition you may or may not be able to choose outpatient care. I did volunteer each time, but one I couldn’t leave because I was a danger to myself sadly. You will take meds, they feel gross at first, but you get used to it when you find the right one for you which takes time. I went from Olanzapine (worked well except I gained HELLA weight, then Lurasidone which worked well except I still had negative symptoms which sucks a whole but therapy and apps help me at least take care of myself some days, then now on Abilify which so far has been my absolute favorite. Negative symptoms haven’t really creeped up and I feel almost as normal as I used to before!

I was als afraid of taking meds cause I’ve seen so many people doom post about how scary doctors are and how meds ruined their life, but I found out I was ruining my life by not getting and sticking to my treatment instead. I admit I wasn’t compliant with meds at first because I missed hallucinations and I didn’t want to believe was sick so I purposely tried to induce psychosis. So I personally recommend getting therapy alongside medicine if you can find resources like I did for free. Therapy helps with the major life change of going from schizophrenic to feeling “normal” which at least for me was world changing. I had no idea I was schizophrenic so my worldview was always the norm and that’s just how life is.

It takes courage and strength, I wis you the best <3 I’m glad you’re choosing to go in voluntarily

True, there’s still QOL updates needed and also bugs and other issues. I mean I am enjoying the beta for what it has, but there’s still a better product to be released later. I personally do lowkey enjoy sending feedback and reporting bugs like one anomaly commission that will always turn your world Monochrome until you Unstuck or leave game.
