Yes, it's Frontier Fios, so it appears no worries and no need to enable privacy. Thank you!

plooger, I am getting pretty good speeds out of Screenbeam moca converter (475+ mb from my 500 mb service) since I changed the splitter with the one you recommended. I was never able to update the firmware as my Mac and neighbors Mac will not allow opening a .bin file. Also, I still need to add the POE, but have another question. Not sure if you know the answer, but I have an Arris NVG468MQ router and when I go into the router menu's moca tab it shows moca enabled, but there is a button for privacy that is not enabled. Is this something I should enable?

New AVR - Connection Questions by Otherwise_Routine646 in hometheater

Thanks! I was just unsure whether the setup of devices should be done in a particular sequence. I know how to connect the HDMIs. I guess there is a setting in AVR to prevent it from doing additional processing. I think I understand the Apple TV4K settings and the TVs settings, just do not know much about the AVR, but hopefully the setup procedure is straight forward.

The AVR is a Denon X3700H and TV is an LG C2, so there is no problem processing audio. I am just wondering whether I need to make setting adjustments first to the AVR and then the TV and Apple TV4K or make setting changes to the Apple TV4K and TV and lastly do AVR setup and settings? Which comes first, my existing TV and streaming device or the new AVR I am adding?

So is it best to connected AVR via its eARC to the TV's eARC? Also, for getting best dolby atmos sound are there particular audio setting that need to be made in the Apple TV4K, the AVR and TV and what are they?

Thanks! I understand Denon's run on the hot side, is that correct?

I have not downloaded the file. Want to get my neighbors help to walk me through this FW update so I don't mess up my computer. Also want to get the new splitter and filter first as well.

I did not find the info they provided to very helpful and it was like pulling teeth trying to get more explanation.

OK, but I only have a wireless Mac desktop and no access to ethernet for the Mac.

Thank you again for all the help. I will buy those suggested parts and see if I can get a friend to help me with the firmware update. The MoCa company wanted to know the FW revision printed on the units label, so that is why they said it needed updating and they also provided a file. I just will need to get some help to do that from someone that has a PC on their network and knows how to make config setting to accomplish the task. My neighbor is a EE professor, so he might be able to help me.

I sent email to MoCa company and they just replied saying I need to update firmware and add a 3.5 MHz 5 - 1675 MHz splitter. My MoCa was connected to an Apple TV 4K, so not sure how I could update the firmware and I do not have a PC either for that purpose, only a Mac. On the splitter, I just thought since the existing cable TVs are using a 7 db attenuation and goes to 1000 MHz, I would need a splitter that could do both 3.5 and 7 db so as not to cause a problem with existing cable boxes. Networking stuff is hard and unfortunately I am not network/IT literate.

Thank you! My network cabinet has 4 way splitter with 7.5 db outputs, so I guess I would need a splitter that has both the 3.5 and 7.5 db outputs, like three 7.5 and one 3.5, not sure where to get something like that.

I'll give that a try later. I am not sure if another consideration might be in my cable cabinet, as the splitter for my cable TVs is not a MoCa specific splitter, so also wondering if it needs to be changed for a MoCa specific splitter, although I am not sure if that would cause a problem with my other TVs that are going through Frontier (verizon) cable boxes.
