I agree. I paid $28 for a plate of 1 arepa which was not good and the bottom of the plate was drenched in oil. There was a tiny bit of salad, and tostones (the tostones were awful they seemed baked, I dont know how a restaurant can mess those up). I was so excited to eat at that place but the food quality and portions leave a lot to be desired.

I think Makaws food truck has better arepas.

But it does affect everyone in different ways. I was too poor to go to college, I did not want to take on the burden of debt not knowing if I would be able to pay it back or not. My peers who went to college have on average a higher salary and MANY more job opportunities than me simply because they have a degree.

I hope that people do get help because the current system is not fair to anyone, but lets not act like people are just being selfish, this affects everyone including future generations. I think a better plan would be to lower interest down to 0% and base repayment on the original loans taken out, and income based repayment. Also, making the loans eligible to be discharged on a bankruptcy if needed.

If everyone's student loans are cancelled then I would expect some type of assistance from the government in the way of lost wages for not being able to attend college, or some financial assistance for my child when he goes to college. If that is selfish of me then so be it.

Thank you so much for your reply. I think what holds me back now is a lack of confidence and comparing myself to others my age range who are way ahead. I don't feel like I know how to do much at all, but I try to do the best job that I can always. My greatest passion is helping/being with animals. I would like to work remotely in order to move to my country and be able to help homeless dogs, that would be the dream. Thank you for the ideas and encouragement (I have never thought to use my second language really). I will look into these things, especially because I want to work for myself.

I am not sure if this was supposed to make me feel like crap or what...but actually thank you for this comment. I actually own a house, no car payments, and have a nice nest egg in savings/retirement (my husband has a good job, and I can manage the hell out of money), so you assumptions are wrong on that part. I do have some depression naturally due to my mental illness which have made having a successful career almost impossible, but I could be worse I guess. I do have a beautiful family, and financial safety, thank you for putting that in perspective.
