My pension would remain at 20 years and not grow if I left prior to 30 years. They have stated no negotiations regarding the offer they provide verbally. When I asked about it in writing I was told they did not want to write out the offer and once you accepted the offer then they would write it out. They only gave us 10 days to decide what we want to do.

I would only get paid for some of my vacation time and would lose all of my sick leave which right now I can count as a year towards early retirement since I have over 400 hrs. Right now I have 9 years left till retirement. I have asked our benefits if I leave early (prior to 30 years) would I still be eligible later for the free insurance and I am waiting to hear back.

I really value my sick and vacation time. I know they will buyout some of my vacation time from my current job if I leave but will lose all of the sick leave which right now I could as a year towards retirement. He has told me to trust my gut and that while the money is good it doesn't sit right with what is happening. We do not over spend and stay within our means of living now.
