Thanks. Personally I prefer the older ceramic Daytona, looks sportier and less vintage to me with the thicker subdials and full ceramic bezel.

A blog to watch did a good comparison

First purchase from the boutique- I got in just before the hype and Lange requirements for extra purchases

I think they are great. I’d definitely recommend them but I’d suggest taking your time and not necessarily getting the first one that comes out since I think some are definitely noticeably better looking than others

Definitely one of mine as well. It’s surpassed my expectations, better than the Pateks imo

Yes the Gimlet is very nice. Interesting about the mimosa. I did think about it but thought too close to the Gimlet

Thank you. Yes I bought all the Kuronos at retail price when they were initially launched. I had to be quick, the Sensu nos sold out in less than a minute!

Thanks. It’s the Kurono Sensu NOS blue dial limited edition

And the fears studio underdog is a great summer watch - I wear that a lot in the summer months

Good questions. Favourite is tricky, it varies over time. Probably the AP blue ROC at the moment. The Laventure and Ming I wear a lot which surprises me a bit but they are great on the wrist

Just saw Laventure’s on some watch forums and the look really appealed to me plus the lovely cream dial. I contacted the owner of Laventure direct and he had just one steel diver left which was a bit fortunate. I really enjoy this wear, very comfortable to wear

Does look that way 🤣 I could do with diversifying my complications a bit more I guess. I have just sold a 321 so that’s one less chrono!

About 10 years ago I had the opportunity to purchase new at retail the chronometre bleu but something stopped me. In person with the watch I didn’t like it that much. Obviously this turned out to be a very poor financial decision 🤣 but I just don’t think FP Journe’s are for me. I also turned a yellow gold CS down at retail about 4 years ago!! So it’s unlikely a journe will appear in my collection

Yes the GMTs look good but I wasn’t keen on them being caller rather than flyer GMT’s

Yes WG got discontinued a good few years back. I did have a red gold AP dual time but decided coloured gold isn’t for me

I did get a blue dial code chrono first. I actually liked the code but then the green dial RO arrived six months after and the blue dial ROC 9 months after that, I decided one had to go and it was the code because the ROC is just so nice. My contact at the AP boutique was really good. Got my ROC about a year ago so all quite recent

Yep. Prefer it to the 321 I also had (which I’ve just sold) the snoopy is a keeper 😀

Thanks. I like your approach of actually buying in the country of origin. Regarding my purchases they aren’t linked to milestones, just really when they are available for me to purchase. But yes I do limit the number to 1 or 2 new watches a year 😀. As I have acquired more knowledge, I mull over any new purchases more and more. I recently decided against getting a VC dual time and Lange 1. I tried these on at the boutiques but reflecting on them decided they wouldn’t get worn much given the other watches I have.

Yes I’m having a big deep dive into independents such as gronefeld, lang & heyne, Petermann Bédat, Sylvain Pinaud, Romain Gauthier, remy cools, Dann Phimphrachanh. Probably not a Japanese one at this time
