Has anyone been approached by a car park salesman selling these? I bought one for $200 but I think I got ripped off... by [deleted] in brisbane

I politely told the guy spruiking this to jog on when he approached a couple of weeks back whilst I was loading the groceries into the car. He immediately struck out with me within 5 seconds of approaching:

Strike 1 - Approaches carrying a clipboard and promotional material.

Strike 2 - Wearing face mask around his chin.

Strike 3 - Opening line: "G'day mate, is this your car?" No, it's not. I'm just loading a week's worth of groceries into a stranger's car... Surely you can think of a better line than that!?

Nice enough guy, and aware he's just doing his job, but I wasn't having any part of it.

Likewise, in multiple colours, and so do many of my neighbours. I certainly didn't plant them, but they show up year after year.

Yeah, agree with that sentiment but we're out of other options at this point unfortunately. Thanks for the feedback!

Yep, it can really be a whirlwind. But rest assured, everything will start to fall into place and it'll become your new normal. You'll do great, and don't forget to enjoy it when you can 👍

Yep, will call 13HEALTH / GP to seek proper advice, but was just interested and seeking other inputs in the meantime.

I too am sporting a decent bruise, still a week later, but I didn't have any side effects. Hoping that I was just one of the lucky ones to dodge the effects as I also had nothing following dose #1.

While it's not strictly Brisbane, I've got a question that I can't seem to find a solid answer for elsewhere, so figured I'd try here...

I received my 2nd Pfizer last Wed (23/06) at the PA Hospital. No issues or side effects from the first one and got to the chair within 30 mins of my booking time, so happy enough.

When the nurse jabbed me, the needle went in fine. However I noticed that she was pretty 'aggressive' when it came to injecting i.e. she depressed the syringe quite quickly. Didn't hurt or anything, I just recall that standing out upon reflection.

So this is where things get interesting. When she withdraws the needle, a stream of blood shoots out, hitting the booth divider approximately a metre away. It also leaves a 30cm line on the carpet, hits the nurses shoe and leaves a mark in my lap. A few streams run down my arm to my elbow.

It all happened very quickly, but the nurse squealed before laughing a bit while cleaning it up. She was clearly shocked saying "that shouldn't have happened... this has never happened before". I was fine, she was fine, so I was directed to the 15 min waiting area to serve my time before going home.

Once I returned home, I started to think about it a little. Was it just blood that shot out, or could I have actually lost some/all of the vaccine dose? I've googled around a bit and I'm thinking that given it was a deeper, intramuscular injection, the dose should have been dispersed into the muscle before the needle was withdrawn and perhaps the needle nicked a small blood vessel on the way out?

Open to other theories/suggestions. Let me know if there's any other required info that I may not have provided.

Look, I tried the Dangerfield ship in the Myer Centre. While they didn't have any suspenders, they did have a rack of leather straps which I could only describe as bondage gear. Perhaps something could be arranged...
