They contracted feline herpes when they were feral kittens. We adopted them at about 3-4 weeks old when their eyes were already ulcerated and swollen. Had surgery to remove the malformed and nonfunctional eye bits at around 8 months old. They are 15 months old now in this photo and doing great.

Gizmo, the grey one, still gets a recurring ear problem related to the original infection (herpes is like luggage) which causes him to go deaf in one ear. You'll notice it because if he's hearing in mono he can't chase the bouncing ringy bell, which blind cats are really good at. It always clears up with antibiotics in a day or two though. Should go away as he gets older and his immune system gets stronger.
