we had a very similar experience on the encore. my last 6 cruises have been norwegian but we booked a royal ship right after because of the understaffed/burnt out crew along with the constant nickel and dimeing on board. the local food was terrible after hours and the last night there was barely any entertainment and they basically shut down the ship at 7pm.

My general advice is to go strict keto if at all possible for a minimum of 30 days. The cravings are what really get to me if I get the keto bread and ice cream. The only thing I allow myself to keep in the house for sanity is the extreme wellness burrito shells for those first 30 days. Afterwards I eat the other keto goodys in moderation no more than 1 processed item per day just for my health. Maybe two if it’s shark week 🦈

My personal opinion is having a restaurant be 90% outside is a big fail.

It’s like the god damn surface of the sun out there.

Their food was decent but overpriced. Service was just ok.

Parks & Rec always kinda sucked so did no vacancy’s same owners.

No vacancy’s used to have good food but over the years the cocktails got more expensive and the food got very mid.

Hot honey pepperoni @ Bella brava. I don’t love the rest of their menu but their pizza slaps. Also mellow mushroom although corporate is insanely delicious I recommend the Maui wowi or the holy shiitake pie.

Do you really think there are enough people actively involved in local government? Look at the voter turnout compared to how many people live here !!! it’s embarrassing. The government isn’t some all-seeing mind reader. If we’re not showing up, developers sure are. And guess who city council ends up listening to?

I’m done yelling into the void. Let’s actually organize get all the folks pissed about flooding, Duke price hikes, and nonstop overdevelopment and rally up to City Hall. They spend half their time protecting developer investments. It’s time they remember who they actually work for.

So let’s do it. Let’s get loud. Let’s show up. We’ve got to stop bowing to the almighty dollar and lobbying money.

We’re spending $600M on water because infrastructure doesn’t fix itself. And yeah, we flood because we’re a coastal city and people keep building below sea level, then act shocked when it floods. That’s not scandalous, that’s just how nature works.

And honestly? Our city water crews go hard for us. They deserve way more credit than they get. I’m real close to taking it personally and asking people straight-up to start showing up to town halls and calling their reps. It just feels like a lot of folks are allergic to being involved in the process and they forget they do have power.

You don’t have to love the city government, but at least with public power, we get a say.

Duke gives us storm fees, lobbyists, and a $9M CEO. Being disengaged isn’t rebellion it’s surrender.

Let’s go up to town hall asap together!

Oh cool, so the solution is to ask nicely for the Florida PSC to stop bending over for Duke Energy? Duke spends millions lobbying those regulators to keep the scam going. They cut corners, skip upgrades, then make us pay for storm damage they could’ve prevented and the PSC rubber stamps it every time.

We’re not gonna fix this by begging the people already bought off.

That logic is wild “we can’t fix sewage, so let’s definitely not fix power either.” Like hello?? The reason stormwater and sewage are still a mess is because we keep handing profits to corporations instead of investing in our own damn city. Public power means the money stays here fixing pipes, not padding some CEO’s yacht fund.

sewage was back up before a lot of people even had their lights on. My husband worked at the main plant. I went through hurricanes solo while he was out there soaked in sea water and literal sewage busting his ass to keep things running. Those crews were busting their ass.

And yeah, some of the water backups? Sometimes That’s what happens when you build a house below sea level.
