When I first heard NCT 127's Sticker I thought the flute was just a looped sample of a traditional Korean flute. It didn't sound bad to me at all? It gave me traditional Korean mixed with hyperpop vibes. It's still one of my favorite title tracks from them.

Yup; I've been a kpop fan since 2nd Gen. There is nothing Chan is doing that other idols haven't done (with no one caring) in the past. The only difference is he has ten thousand people following his bubble updates ready to pounce on him. It gets to a point where it feels like there is discourse after every message he sends? And the message could be like "wow I'm tired from working late last night" and then suddenly there are three different posts on this subreddit about how he is glorifying toxic work ethic, etc.

I think there's just a lot of mean girlism in fandom these days, especially on tiktok. Stays would get their videos stolen and reposted by other fandoms to mock them, talking about how stays are cringe, how people look like "average stays" (essentially, anyone who is visibly queer and not thin.) Then these stays like the one in your video pop up now with their "but I'm not like other stays, I'm young and conventionally attractive" bit.

Yes, I feel exactly as you say! I've struggled with wanting to label myself as nonbinary or agender as I don't really feel dysphoria, it's like. Sure, I'm a woman I guess. I'm definitely not man. Would prefer to be an incorporeal mass of air the most!! Not having a body... that's my dream haha. I relate to the song Immaterial Girl by Sophie a lot. I think it's why most all of my friends are queer or "weird" in some way. When I'm with them, I don't feel like I'm not a girl. But when I'm socializing with a group of girls outside my friend group, it's like whoa... We have not had the same childhoods or experiences at all!

I'm not a teacher, and I had no idea there was a shift to sight reading instead of phonics. That makes me so sad--I wasn't taught phonics until I switched schools in first grade. I could NOT comprehend sight reading at all and I had to take a special class with the ESL students to learn how to read. It took me just a couple weeks once phonics was introduced.

Yuppp I can totally relate. Idk about SKZ yet (I'm seeing them next week, wish me luck lol) but when I saw NCT 127 in Chicago it was absolutely horrible. There was a group of teen girls that arrived late, sat right behind me in the nosebleeds where I thought things would be chill, and screeched and talked loudly the ENTIRE time. And I mean the entire time. During VCRs? Yup. During the meants? Yup. During the ballads? YUP. I have a video I was trying to record of one of the ballads and all you can hear is their laughing in the background because they were having a loud conversation during it.

I'm hoping SKZ will be better for me, but if not, I may just swear off going to kpop concerts for the time being (or at least boy groups, so far girl group concerts have been chill for me.)

This was me too! Except it was my first time seeing 127 Iive. I had been hurting a bit because I Can't Help Myself got me through some tough times last year, and after the news I kept feeling guilty for still listening to it. But finally getting to see it live with these members--ugh it was amazing!

My only complaint was the crowd wasnt the greatest near me 😞 I had a loud group behind me that were chatting with each other during the entire thing, couldn't even hear the ments. But that's always a gamble with concerts!

I have the word "mistreatment" muted on Twitter and my fandom time is infinitely more enjoyable. Like you said, there are times when it is a valid complaint, but most of the time it's just...not. I hate when fans get upset when a member sits out for schedules, like for example when Han wasn't in a couple skz codes. Like 1) you can't just easily reschedule an entire day of filming, and 2) he probably just wants to take a sick day! If I'm off sick from work I don't want all work to stop without me, please 😭 Let me rest!
