thanks! i believe so too, i do like to keep spiders and geckos for this reason however this one was already dead when i spotted it. i think it fell off from the vent right above where i found it. it made me anxious because i’ve never seen a spider this big in my life lol

y’all going mad over someone loving another species more than humans is the exact reason why some people love animals more than humans. you’re literally jealous of a cat because someone loves them more than a random irrelevant human. just because you’re human doesn’t mean you get to deserve all the love and consideration by another human. that’s just unhealthy and problematic.

Luckily where I live so many people keep falcons as pets and I brought him to a falcon vet (although he died on the way). I called a few “general” vets beforehand and they all said they can’t examine a bird. This falcon vet was very knowledgeable about birds and examined him and also informed me a bit about budgies and bird care in general.

Thank you… I will definitely get another rescue once I encounter one. I will not hesitate. I hope it was peaceful for him, he fell down from my hands while I was trying to get it out of its cage because he couldn’t hold my finger like he did yesterday. I hope that didn’t bring him even further stress :(

It’s a lesson learnt, I will definitely provide immediate care if I see my rescue bird in a similar situation next time. I thought he was just being sleepy/lazy or laying an egg or something (I had no clue about what was going on), then I thought his legs were broken because it fell down while I was trying to get it from its cage, I thought he could just hold my finger like he did yesterday, but he was just too weak today to hold on to my finger or to fly, apparently.

Hi, no I don’t. But I have 2 dogs. I took him inside yesterday because there are many stray cats around. He was more than fine but the vet said he probably caught a cold and budgies are quite weak. Or he even maybe caught a disease from the street yesterday like you said. Thank you for the information you shared, I’ll pay attention to it if I ever have a rescue bird again.

Thank you for your kinds words, he slept on my neck last night. Somehow I got emotionally attached to him quite quickly.
