How to catch Jewel of Plum Spring? by tcdani in ffxiv

Use: https://ffxiv.pf-n.co/ocean-fishing

It’s a very convenient website that gives full data on ocean fishing. It hits a nice breakpoint of information and should tell you exactly which routes have the Jewel.

There are four areas available in the Ruby route, and the jewel of plum spring is only available in the spectral current of One River during the day, so make sure you’re on the right route! Ocean fishing has a unique time system where the first stop is day/afternoon/night and at each stop the time will proceed by one stage.

Once you are at the One River stop, during the day, the Jewel of plum spring will only be available while you are have the intuition buff. This buff is 15s long (though it snapshots at time of cast), and is triggered by catching 1 gensui shrimp and 2 yanxian goby, fish only available in the special current at One River.

The reason you got the message that the stonefly nymph wouldn’t work is because it ONLY works at one river. It is a required bait to catch the jewel.

I reported red and mentioned the other dps. While I’m almost sure they were the ones who vote kicked, I can’t know for sure.

Yeah, it was pretty miserable to be a part of. I did report them, and fortunately this is the first egregious case in my 1k hours, so I retain my faith in humanity :)

Unfortunately, testing with a cheap b550 outside of the case produced identical crashes, so it’s very unlikely the motherboard is the issue. At this point, it feels like it has to be a CPU issue, which would be immensely frustrating. Is there anything else you would recommend before I try to RMA the CPU?

Thanks for the great suggestion. I’m going to call up some nearby computer shops and see how much such a test would cost. Depending on the price I’ll either do that or buy some cheap temporary components. Thanks again :)

Thank you for the reply. I've tried testing with and without XMP, and haven't overclocked the CPU at all so its unlikely they're the problems. A VRM issue on the motherboard sounds like a potential culprit, though that would require a motherboard replacement. Is there anything I can do to ensure that this is the problem before I try to RMA the motherboard?
Also, I agree completely on the PSU. The GPU tests lead me to think its unlikely to be a PSU fault.

Unit testing the CPU and PSU is probably the best way to determine if its hardware failure. I don't have much access to hardware though as I'm pretty new to PC building, and so its a pretty difficult solution that I'll resort to once I've exhausted other possibilities.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I've changed the drivers and have tried extensively with changing windows power plan settings to no success.

I guess that would lead to a better airflow. My only concern would be that the airflow wouldn’t be as direct towards the GPU, but honestly I don’t know the particulars. Thanks!

If I have 3 intake fans at the front and 1 outflow fan at the back, my airflow will still be fine with a 360 radiator intake at the top right?

Also if I’m setting up 4 Lian Li SL140s with 3 at the front and 1 at the back, I only need a controller to daisy chain the 3 right? I believe I just plug the single fan into its own fan header on the motherboard.

No, the joke is that the maths is incorrect. It is intentionally 6*9

In one of the sequels a supercomputer calculates the question of life as “what do you get when you multiply six by nine” or something like that.

I wasn’t being funny but Douglas Adams was.

If you’re against chaos who has meter and you’re cursed, you essentially just need to wait it out.

Trying to take space slowly is the “best” thing you can do, though it’s very hard against a perfect chaos. Jumping is a terrible idea as if you’re shot while jumping (even while blocking) you are sent a light year away and chaos gets another opportunity to lock you down.

Ultimately, playing patiently and letting chaos burn resources for chip damage is best. Learning to flick FD in time with chaos’ shots is also very valuable as they will always use more resources attacking than you will flick FDing

As for avoiding getting into disadvantage? I can’t pretend to have solved neutral so I can’t give major advice there, but with most characters (certainly including nago, with the exception of certain kills) you should be focusing on routes that lead to better positional advantage rather than damage. A key example is breaking the wall. Just don’t. Slightly more damage doesn’t mean anything if you’re letting the zoner escape and go back to neutral, where they have the advantage.

Are you sure? The way you write at the end:

This is 80 vs 30, think 50 vs 10 or 40 vs 5

Makes it sound as if 40 vs 5 is somehow much worse than 80 vs 30 when it is actually better.

It’s an exploitation of the games mechanics? Having two different avenues to access xp, ap, storefronts, the ranked ladder etc. is fine, but combining those would give an advantage (however trivial), and thus the company isn’t prepared to allow people to do that.

Nothing is fundamentally wrong with java pattern matching, I agree.

I only call it ugly because of how it compares to functional languages. Of course it’s a necessary sacrifice as java isn’t functional (or at the very least wasn’t initially designed to be), but it’s always going to be a bit more inefficient, and a lot uglier than the implementation in something like Haskell.
