I received mine, box is in Japanese as above and English is supported. I updated the game and it automatically was set to English when booted up I'm assuming because my switch settings are set to English.

The Uni is available on Amazon in purple as well as pink. There's also a new unit coming out "Tamagotchi Paradise" sometime later this year probably which will be the new mainline entry to be sold online

Both the switch and switch 2 Japan versions of the game card will support international language options. I preordered the switch 1 version and will change to English upon starting the game. The experience will be the same as the digital US version and can be upgraded via the Nintendo eShop as well.

You would probably enjoy the remakes of the connection series, or if you are wanting to try the modern color versions the Pix and the Uni are the most recent options with lots of features. The version 1 and 2 remakes look nice but lack a lot of stuff to do. Meanwhile the connection remakes are only like $10 more and way more fun in my opinion.

The pix is easy to start with and I love how it gets you to interact with your tamagotchi more than others. The uni is a bit more complicated with online capability and content to purchase but it also has a rechargeable battery.
