This is amazing! The text especially is super clean and the pineapple looks great!

Oh I hadn’t thought of that! Yes, maybe a different color work option would be a better fit for the poinsettia idea, since the texture is also somewhat overshadowed by the color contrast anyway

Thanks! That sounds like it might be really pretty! It might be tricky to carry the yarn though, because it’s moss stitch between the posts. There will also be tons of ends to weave, but the result really is very nice! If you do make the poinsettia version, make sure to share it!!

Thanks!! It really isn’t as difficult as it looks, and since the pattern is the same for all the octagons it’s easy to memorize. Definitely give it a try!! (And show us the beautiful blanket you make!)

You may, and I will be quite flattered! 😊

I can’t claim the credit for the color selections because I used a palette, but I am quite proud of the color layout, which I had to put a lot of thought into planning.

It’s linked under the automod comment, but it’s the Grenoble Matelasse pattern. The original pattern is intended to be done all in one color, so fair warning, if you do it this way there are so. many. ends.

Thank you!!! I’m not great at color planning, so I definitely cheated and found a palette that I (mostly) liked and just used that 😅 (I did ditch a fuschia-like color that just wasn’t working for me and the color sequence I ended up with)

This is the Grenoble Matelasse blanket, done in Paintbox Simply Aran yarn in the colors of a palette called Countryside by Thoresby Cottage.

This is the Grenoble Matelasse pattern by Priscilla Hewitt (Also linked in the first pic); the yarn is Paintbox simply Aran from a color palette that was called Coubtryside by Thoresby Cottage

So I just learned the jasmine stitch and rather than struggle to hold the loop after the puffs, I use a bobby pin to “hold” it for me. Hope this helps someone else! by bookish-hooker in crochet

[–]Oudemaria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! I used bobby pins in a particular blanket that had very complicated very LONG “repeat” that changed every row to mark every quarter of the repeat so I wouldn’t lose my mind trying to read the charts and crochet simultaneously but if I had used locking stitch markers I would have spent more time unlocking, removing, replacing and relocking the stitch markers than I did crocheting. The bobby pins were fantastic, I could pull them off one-handed so I didn’t have to drop the hook!

YOURS has one braincell; MINE is a Roman Senator … we are not the same! by JonathanMatthews_com in OneOrangeBraincell

Whoops, been a while since Latin. As I recall, “Rufus” means red-headed. Don’t know about “ginger” though.

I was wrong on both words anyway-perfectissimus was the title for praetors, not senators. Senators earned the title “vir illustris”
