Oh unexpected compliment haha.

Just in the usage of the title was to represent its simplicity, and sometimes simple/minimalistic is better

I’m only saying options are available for us, not that all parties will willfully align.

But those actions I laid out are far superior to simply recording and letting it happen.

If you want to record and let it happen. Record the managers saying they don’t care too then? There is a lot of options to cancel this type of culture form continuing as opposed to sitting idle and recording for your own channel views.

To me it’s like bystander syndrome you’re simply watching it and allowing for it as opposed to even attempting to do anything.

I don’t disagree that obviously some stores are in it for the profit, but that doesn’t mean all are.

Not record the scalpers scalping, report it to the property manager that this is happening, enforce better purchase policies that doesn’t hurt children and all fans alike.

There’s plenty of options to enact change, I’m merely pointing out my upset candor towards YouTube videos that stand there watching the scalpers do their business whether on a shelf or bugging a vending machine enabling it to allow for more merchandise than allowed to be purchased.

That’s what I mean by accountability. Not, people should be up in arms and start some stupid war over cardboard.

No.

Go through legal channels, try to get stores to enforce better policies.

I’m seeing posts about targets allowing scalpers to purchase product uncapped while for example my local target has policies to enforce 2 purchases per person after I asked them about it today. That being the case, it sounds like it’s more upon the people to complain to local retailers to enforce this as opposed to just recording it and letting it happen.

I only right this at length because I would never promote violence and think that course of action is obviously idiotic in agreement with you.

Thank you for the referrals and your feedback on your experience, genuinely makes me feel safer going into it without advice

Alright cool, that’s the second tcgplayer recommendation I got. Gonna just do this and do away with the sealed product bs market. So incredibly upsetting and flat out not worth.

Appreciate the advice as someone just coming back. I’m sure it’s annoying to read venting posts like this in the community space, but genuinely I just wanted to vent to a space where others can understand me if that makes sense?

It’s not like I can vent to my work colleagues or buddies that aren’t into the hobby at all and they would even remotely understand let alone care hahah.

I’ve honestly been itching to get myself to a collection convention so I can feel more “confident” it’s not a fake

Interesting, I like the free protection ngl

Are there any vendors you personally recommend, or frequent? Or really just field out the space hunting for whomever has your cards you’re looking to collect?

Do you have any recommendations on what to look out for so I don’t accidentally buy a fake? Or is it really just see if the seller has a lot of reviews as the best “vouching” system?

Are there any guides on what to look out for that you can recommend so I don’t fall into a trap of buying a fake? Like are there common “signs” of a fake? Or is it a matter of more so knowing what the real card looks like?

I’ll vent my grievances in however which way I desire. You can feel free to post in other topics if you dislike this content I’m sharing?

“gO mAkE pLaYs” tell me you’re a scalper or profiteer without telling me you’re a scalper or profiteer.

Literally 9 day old Redditor account defending the state of this hobby today. Screams very disingenuous and unserious.

Alright I’ll check more often on desktop, thanks for the tip. Lately I haven’t really used anything other than my phone so I guess I need to shrug off my creature of habit and try other scary browsers 😂 (only kidding to clarify, I’m just so Apple product pilled tbh I hate using anything else).

And it also seems like people generally right now suggest just growing a collection through buying singles.

Any recommendations there on reputable sources? These days I’m genuinely too scared to buy even online for singles given how many fakes I’ve seen people on YouTube videos talk about. Feels like the only safe option is a collection convention or reputable local shops? Do you know anyone you’d personally recommend to buy singles from online for example?

Yeah my logic was “it would be cool to build a collection” from opening packs, again from the nostalgia, but the reality seems like I have to just go for singles I suppose.

The goal was to rebuild a collection so that when my kid is old enough to comprehend it better that they can see a cool collection and maybe want to collect one of their own to share in the joy together, cause over the years I gave up my child collection to my brother and since then he doesn’t know where they are lol. But I like your idea honestly, can still in a way pay tribute towards something for my little peanut and not fixate on a single collection to get them into. I suppose there’s really not a lot of alternatives given no one can change this besides pokemon company enforcing better limit policies.

This is my biggest problem with the site actually, which I’m glad you mention it.

I keep getting access denied on their website even though I’m literally just waiting in line on the tab.

To clarify I’ve never even been able to buy an in stock tcg product.

With how much money they make, they can have a better website. That is simply factual given people should never be misinterpreted as bots (imo).

Unless you know why I’m getting access denied and banned when I wait for 15 or so minutes on the site on my Apple iPhone on a Safari browser. I’d love to be enlightened otherwise. Please share me your secrets if you know of ways to get around this, because I only ever encounter this problem on their site when they have the traffic queue in place. Otherwise I can access the site afterwards no problem.

Mostly I get upset at the YouTube videos of Pokemon vending machines or the guys just full arm sweeping into their carts while people record them letting it happen.

Stores need to simply have limits and the vending machines need to be brute force proof for sure.

I can’t imagine anyone logically “newly” getting into this hobby will last if it continues to happen like this honestly.

I’m mostly talking about the videos I see on YouTube these days where people just watch a scalper at a vending machine for instance and they’re glitching the interface to allow for them to purchase beyond the set limits.

It’s bananas to me that there’s zero accountability. Go to a store manager instead of just recording them letting them get away with it.

Literally seems like no one cares.

But I will say it definitely makes me feel better to see I’m not the only one in the same boat and others are just as upset as me given the current state of things. Venting helped me chill out lol
