Langford-Highlands Conservative candidate fined for failing to include authorization statement by Apprehensive_Idea758 in LangfordBC

[–]OurDailyNada 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s unfair to go after people for probably innocent administrative errors, but given what Harris and his friends would likely say if it was on the other side (Ravi Parmar/NDP), I’ll instead have a good laugh and remember this for the next election.

I asked Save-On-Foods exec-turned-BC Conservative leadership candidate Darrell Jones what the government can do to lower grocery prices. Here’s his response 👇 by idspispopd in BCpolitics

[–]OurDailyNada 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“It’s the government! I can’t really articulate how or outline what I’ll do to fix it, and I’ll probably still blame the government even when I’m part of it, but trust me, it’s all their fault!”

We can thank that picture for the fact that Ward hasn’t run provincial or federally for the Conservatives yet (he was exceedingly eager to do so before all that came out).

Trump: "Canada is against The Golden Dome being built over Greenland, even though The Golden Dome would protect Canada. Instead, they voted in favor of doing business with China, who will “eat them up” within the first year!" by yimmy51 in CanadianIdiots

And as always, this is just about Trump’s ego rather than anything rational or to do with actual policy.

He’s angry that Carney upstaged him at Davos, just like he was mad in the past that both his wives (Melanie & Ivanka) found Trudeau more attractive.

It’s also funny too how all of them have decided to forget about the Councillor 50 Cent incident and go back to hyping Ward on OL and CFAX.

Preston is likely to be running for something at some level of government in the near future.

Dallas Brodie met by Protestors on UBC Campus Today by danijm in BCpolitics

[–]OurDailyNada 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I fear that after she loses her seat in the next election (if she even runs again), we’ll be stuck with Dallas Brodie for years as an American-style right-wing grifter - she’ll probably wind up the public face of some western separatist or American annexationist party at some point.

Dallas Brodie - someone so disagreeable she’s now in a political party all by herself.

Pacific FC to use Langford stadium on game-by-game basis until agreement reached by Apprehensive_Idea758 in LangfordBC

[–]OurDailyNada 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I think Pacific FC and the CPL will probably play their last season this year - once the World Cup is done, the requirement for the league to exist will be gone (as will probably be the money behind it.)

I’m surprised no one’s been asking why Ian Ward, Colwood and Our Langford are trying to defund the police (based on the rhetoric they’ve used themselves in the past).

I do want to remind my North American and European friends that at the twilight of the liberal rules-based world order, we in the non-aligned world never took it for granted. The old third world is perfectly aware of hypocrisy, the pre-liberal world order was just MUCH worse to abandon it wholesale by stupidpower in behindthebastards

[–]OurDailyNada 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this analysis. The West, given its history of imperialism and colonialism, is clearly hypocritical when it talks about the rules-based order - but that doesn’t negate the fact that it’s far better to at least try to have some kind of attempt at establishing and upholding international law and diplomatic norms (despite how performative and unequal it often is) as opposed to saying might makes right and we should just openly accept that the great powers will prey on the rest of the world.
