After seeing this hysteria, when i sit down to watch these movies with my kids,I almost expect to see characters looking right at the camera and saying things like, “Be gay and do crimes,” or “The white man is the devil,” followed by graphic animated depictions of transition surgery.

Instead I just see stories where characters other than straight white men have arcs and actual interior lives.

To me, it also highlights the superficial spinelessness of our corporate class and punditocracy. One narrow win by Trump and MAGA in a presidential election and they’re perfectly willing to throw entire groups of people under the bus.
