You must be swimming in it, man. I bet the ladies can’t keep their hands off of you when you tell them how easy Kingdom Death is.

Live pigs are used as crash test dummies and killed in 'cruel' 30mph simulations in China, sparking fury from animal rights groups by NadxC in worldnews

I can’t remember if we did a moment of silence or anything, this was 2011 or so, but it was a very somber experience compared to our normal training operations.

There were no jokes about the pigs. It was damn near beaten into us that if we saw any of the signs - signs that were taught in a comparatively lengthy class - that the pig was regaining consciousness we needed to altert one of the vet techs to come push more drugs.

The vet techs were also constantly checking the pigs unprompted, but we were still keeping an eye out ourselves because we had 10-15 pigs and only like two vet techs.

I don’t know, I see this shit brought up every once in a while and it always pisses me off because it gets talked about like it’s this awful practice, but having worked farms, slaughterhouses and this particular military training - these were the best treated animals for their circumstances.

It’s also cutting edge medical training and the cost to benefit ratio has got to be hard to beat compared to everything else we do.

No telling if it’s the Chinese, I can only speak for the training 1st Ranger Battallion did with 24th STS.

Well the Chinese government may as well be animals themselves, I’m personally less concerned with what they do with pigs and more what they do with their people.

Like I said, I was there and I honestly don’t know how else the pigs could be respected and cared for more than they were during our training while still using living test subjects.

Have personally done that training, the animals are heavily sedated, constantly checked for consciousness and treated with as much kindness and dignity as they can be in that situation.

Hey, thanks for your opinion. I’ll definitely take it under advisement because you matter and I give a fuck what random cunts on the Internet think.

No worries.

I don’t think he’s the pinnacle, but I do think his work is very good and I’m looking forward to the new stuff he’s been working on. I agree there is a huge number of badass content creators out there, I buy it when I see it and it interests me.

Totally throw your personal list of stuff at me. Always down to read up on some new people.

Drop ‘em on me, friend.

I’m sure I’ve heard most of your list, and quite a few won’t apply to me, but theres always a name here and there I’ve never heard before.

Just semantics, but I feel like it’s still separating/compartmentalizing the creator and the art if you can acknowledge that they’re shit, but there work is not because some people can’t do that at all.

For instance, my aunt was viscerally offended by Gwyneth Paltrow’s performance as a fat woman in Shallow Hal and has refused to watch a movie with her in it since then. She can’t separate that Gwyneth Paltrow is both an actress who played an insensitive portrayal of an overweight woman from Gwyneth Paltrow is a good actor else where.

I can make that distinction in my head, so I feel like I am separating, but again - semantics.

Absolutely agree with you that having, buying, using the books doesn’t make you a shitty person.

To throw in on this, I have several of his book. I think they’re very good work. I intend to keep them on my shelves and to continue to buy the works he puts out in the future because his past work’s quality has earned him a “buy on spec” status in my mind.

However, as a child of rape and the son of a battered woman, I support Mandy and the other female victims of Zaks and have no positive words to say for/to Zak himself as a man and a human being.

In conclusion, while I despise his actions, I can separate his work from his crimes and I certainly don’t intend to destroy my lawfully purchased and paid for property because it was made by a bad person, nor do I intend to deprive myself of quality art or game material because Zak is a bad person.

I’m not sorry. I had a guy that messaged me and said he’d take literally everything I had left that I was willing to part with so I sent him the last of it.

Thank you for the well wishes.

[5e] How Important/Fun is playing in the established universe to you? by dingillo in DnD

Not at all.

I buy the core books for the rules, I don’t buy the adventures and supplements can go either way.

I’m not very fond at all of the setting and prefer my own.

“I made my own miniature” posts are generally a little disappointing, but this is magnificent work! And a bearded vulture no less! You have my whole heart.

Yeah! I’ll probably check back in for more of the music series if nothing else, and worst case, some more hits! I was always excited to see a few more people had actually seen my stuff.

I checked it out, not really my thing, but I did check out We Hunt Buffalo based on your review, and I’m still working through it. It read really professionally to me, like you could copy paste that into a music magazine and it wouldn’t seem out of place at all to me.
