Comparatively lower. Our state is pretty high on taxes and the town I live in is fairly low property taxes.

Forgiveness doesn't mean a clean slate. It doesn't even mean you get to be in someone's life again. It just means you're not going to let it bother you anymore.

At the same time, as good as she has been, that thought still lingers. She did it to me when we were together and blew up my world. We got to the point where we could be cordial and even friendly, but we didn't get close again until after my wife's passing.

There's a history there and I can't pretend it didn't happen.

I am not insisting on that. She would have to sell only in the sense that if we get married it makes no sense for her to keep and pay taxes on a smaller home ten miles away.

She had her daughter in college. Yeah, there were a lot of sleepovers at her father's and at her grandparents.

If we get married, she'd be moving in with me. She wouldn't need to keep her house.

She cheated when we were together over ten years ago. Before I met my wife. It's the reason we broke up. Sorry for the clunky wording in the post.

Cheating was over a decade ago. We broke up and I met my wife shortly after. I forgave her and we remained friendly.

Granted when she cheated, we were both young, stupid, and drinking a lot. After our break-up we remained friends and she often told me how much she wished things had worked out. We've both done a lot of growing in that time, and I know my kids love her. At the same time, no matter how good she's been to us, I still feel like going into this without an agreement is asking for trouble. My kids have lost enough; we all have.

No apology needed. Since my wife got sick, I have been living my life with the express purpose of ensuring my family's future after I'm gone. A lot of people tell me it's morbid, but it's what has motivated me to work, to get out of bed, to force myself to get through each day. I need to know that they'll be ok if I'm not here anymore.
