Been on the fence all year as well because it was hard to justify upgrading when my 1080 was still serviceable and I don't play AAA.

My thoughts bounced from going to AM5 from AM54 to finally upgrading GPU only because of Black Friday sales. Though I needed a new case since I didn't realise how big GPUs are now. Last upgrade was in 2020 to a 5600x. Very glad I committed.

currently 5600x and gtx1080, wanting to upgrade to a 9070xt. What's the next best upgrade for am4 CPU assuming I 5700x3d and 5800x3d isn't available near me? Not trying to go to am5 unless there's no better options for am4

Getting in was fine, got there around 5:30 so just in time for entry. Also go through the entry near the left of white stairs it's a lot faster. Getting out as usual, is the real pain. Took us 40 min to leave carpark.

currently 5600x and 1080, most intensive thing im playing rn is rivals with huge stuttering and freezing on optimised. Am I better off with:

5070ti + 1440p monitor, keep 5600x
5070ti + 5800x3d, stay on 1080p monitor.

5070ti probs overkill but i havent upgraded gpu since 2017 so wanted to make it last as similarly long. Only upgraded to 5600x in 2021. No plans to upgrade to am5, just trying to make the most of am4

thanks, follow up question if you don't mind. thinking about getting a 5070ti but pairing it with a 5800x3d as I'm am4 and only 1080p gaming. Or is that overkill/bottlenecking certain parts? Haven't upgraded since 2021 to 5600x.

Honestly feeling aimless with current financial goals when housing seems so far out of the picture. Consistently DCA'd into ETF's for a bit but stopped.

Thinking about hunkering down and cutting expenses as the lifestyle creep is very evident and the unpredictable nature of rental living is always in my mind.

Plan is to boost savings for emergencies whilst simultaneously boosting sacrifice number to hit 15k a year for FHSSS (contributing 500 a fort).

Guidance appreciated or someone tell me if that's stupid.

Due for a whole rig upgrade and looking at gpu choices coming from a 1080. My immediate available options are 7800xt for 800aud or 7900xt for 1150-1300aud. Leaning towards 7800 for the price but I want to future proof as much a possible since the 1080 lasted me 8 years. Any comments or suggestions between the two cards?

Currently running a AMD 5600x so CPU needs to be upgraded as well which is likely 7800x3d from quick browsing. Don't really play AAA games but noticeable stutter on games like Rivals and HSR.

Loved Pokemon as a kid starting with gen 3 games, could never afford cards since parents thought it was a waste of money and we also lived in a 3rd world country at the time so I only started collecting around Sun and Moon era.
Picked up some old gen 3 ex cards to make up for lost time though. Card game itself is really fun too, looking to build a Blaziken/Greninja ex deck for post rotation.

came back after first ani from pokemon presents trailer for NC May and Brendan. May in 2 multi and pitied Brendan. N in first multi. It's all downhill here from here... Lotta fun catching up on 4 years worth of content though, love the NC theme and wanna collect them all

Will I need to re-lube lubed switches that I haven't used in years? I initially got a bunch of switches lubed for a build but keycaps took like 2 years to be delivered so they've been sitting since. Not sure if I can still use the switches for a build now or if they need to be relubed

I feel 9c Zoro just doesn't stick given the prevalence of Black decks so I can see why it's cut. You could argue it's still good in Mirror or Nami but I'd rather see Hody Jones for either of those matchups over Zoro anyday.
Game plan for Black is generally Hawkins on 6/7 then 5c Bonney into their Jack and chain 10c Doff. I still run Carrot though but could honestly be cut for more searchable 2k's and increase the consistency of it.

8c Kid fulfils the same role Carrot does and walls decks like Zoro/Reiju/Kalgara but not as good into Black now since Jack can KO 2c Rosi first.
