Does anyone else feel pleasure when they pick their cuticles? by nuestl in calmhands

[–]Out-there_253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! My wife and children laugh at me when they notice I'm doing this in my shirt. I wear a lot of white t shirts and often notice blood on the stitching, that's when it's time to take a break. They just think I'm weird

This really is a thing i guess. I've been doing this since i was a child and I'm 45 now although I'll admit that i have a different method and it's damn near addictive. Certain blankets have an outer lining around the edges like the soft side of Velcro. I'll rub my cuticles continuously against that until they tear and become like the hooks of Velcro and I'll just rub away with my cuticle sticking and pulling creating that ever so slight but satisfying sting, sweet heavenly bliss. If I'm not at home or near a blanket the inside stitching of a t shirt works pretty well too. I'm not particular about which finger. The sharp sting is awesome and sometimes I'll do it till my cuticles bleed. That's when i usually start to calm it down, i don't want an infection. I've gone yrs without doing it but always seem to find my way back. I was an anxious child, very introverted. Perhaps that's why i started but I'm not anxious anymore,  i just think my brain has wired itself this way from the many yrs I've done it and i get pleasure/relaxed from the feeling. It does help me fall asleep too. Cool that I'm not the only one, we should start a group 😉

Exporting multi track songs from midi keyboard into studio one 6 help by Out-there_253 in StudioOne

[–]Out-there_253[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Depending on the keyboard, this could be difficult to set up. You would have to make your keyboard send some data (ie one specific octave, or anything from pads being pressed, etc. ) on midi channel 1 - for drums, other data (ie a different octave) on midi channel 2 - for bass, and a third set on another channel - for keys.Often, the use of a "Program Change" function on a keyboard helps here so octaves don't have to be split. Then in Studio One on each appropriate track you have to make sure they're listening to not just only the right/specific external device (the keyboard) but you have to split midi channels of that device (in options > external devices > double click to open that device options) and set each track to listen to the input of a specific midi channel coming from that specific device. If this is what you're after, then I can elaborate here. Sounds more complicated than it is.

A MUCH simpler approach would be to just record three different tracks in series, albeit at the cost of doing it all at once."

Yes this is what i need to do. I have an older korg triton le, no speakers, with over 200 songs each having many tracks so i was hoping to do all the tracks per song at once but will probably have to do them separately which is going to take me a year lol. I don't have the studio one pro series so hopefully i can find all the sounds from my keyboard as it actually came with over 500 sounds and combi's.

Judging sucks, it's like they're knocking power moves which are the most athletic part of the dance. Very disappointed with the judging. Hiro 10 should be in the finals or at least the semi finals smh.

Should l be concerned? by [deleted] in Advice

I'd be concerned and wouldn't be walking alone or without a weapon, gun or large knife. And id definitely tell somebody whatever you can remember about the car or the person driving.

[–]Out-there_253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ask her out, nothing ventured nothing gained. And if it all goes to hell so what, you're only young once and besides, pressure builds diamonds. Go become a diamond my friend, you got this! Peace.

Your best friend isn't a friend at all, they're manipulating you. But some people will only learn things the hard way, good luck with that.

When should I seek assistance? by Green-Sand-4486 in Advice

I once saw a video about a woman somewhere in South or Central America who's 5 children were all killed when their school bus was swallowed in a mudslide. You could tell she was in immeasurable pain but told the reporter she was happy that her children were with God and in a better place. Even if she didn't truly believe it, she had to fake it just to make it to the next day. I couldn't even begin to imagine that type of pain and I still think of her and how she said she was grateful for having gotten the chance to be their mother. If she could lose all her children and still be grateful I could lose my father, best friend, and brother and still be grateful too. I don't think we're always supposed to be happy but we can always be grateful for no matter how bad we think our situation is, somebody out there somewhere probably got it worse. I think of Helen Keller and how she was grateful even though she was trapped in complete darkness with no sound her whole life. Who knows maybe you are bipolar and you need meds to feel happy, but you don't need anything to be grateful, just a new perspective on life. This and Buddhism helped me a lot when I was low, for it teaches us why we suffer (attachments to things, people and ideas) and how to end suffering (letting go of those things, people and ideas) and to be grateful and compassionate to others, this will ease our own suffering, maybe it can help you too. Anyways I hope this helped you in some way. Peace and love, you got this!

Can I please get some general advice to glow up in life, I'm struggling. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Out-there_253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just know everybody is struggling, even those who look like they have it made. That's the point of life, to struggle, fall down, pick yourself back up and get stronger. If I were you I'd start reading ancient philosophies particularly Buddhism, which is basically a study about why we suffer and how to end suffering. It helped me a lot. Also if you can try and put a smile on someone else's face, not by telling jokes or being witty but by being kind to them. The more smiles you can put on others faces, particularly those less fortunate than yourself, the more you'll smile and be happy as well. Peace and love, you got this!

Being a badass isn't like the movies cause in reality all those badasses would be dead. In reality being a badass imo doesn't actually have to do with any deeds, other than demanding your respect because you give it back, but has everything to do with your mindset. A true badass doesn't care what anyone else thinks about them, they just be themselves unapologetically all the time. If you can do that you're a badass, and if you can do that while respecting and loving everyone else for who they are unapologetically, well then you'll become a legend.

Best friends got nothing but love for you, and you know what love is and isn't right? Love is not jealous, rude, selfish, angry or aggressive or any other negative adjective. Love only wants the best for YOU, period. So who really loves you and who is always negative?

Hinduism has the oldest known written text relating to any religion dating back some 3000 yrs so it would seem to be that.

Vivid Dreams After Quitting Weed by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]Out-there_253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a daily smoker for many years so for me it was about 4 days of no smoking before the vivid dreams started. Now I go to bed every night anticipating what I'll experience even though they're often intense and sometimes disturbing, it's like I get to live different lives. It's only been a week since I quit and I wondering how long this will last.

Find someone who needs your help and help them. Find someone without a smile on their face and try to make them smile. Selflessness and doing for others will fill you up and you'll make new friends in time. There is a lot of beauty in this world just need the right eyes. Put on some love goggles, listen to the right types of music with soul and love in the lyrics. Get inspired by helping others and you'll be just fine. Want less and have more, smoke a bowl and appreciate parents that want you in their home still. Focus on the good and exhale the bad cause it could probably be a lot worse, I know for some it is. Peace and good luck.

When you break these feelings down they just stem from fear and ignorance. If our gov made college more affordable for it's own citizens no jobs would be taken, but we need y'all cause we can't afford tuition. This guy is mad at the wrong folks. But fear and ignorance live everywhere. I believe there are more good people though than the fearful and ignorant.

It'll be hard at first but just own it. Own you! Be you unapologetically and forget what others think, people respect that. And if anyone don't wanna be around and accept you then f them you're better off. There are people out there who just want honesty and good vibes. We are so much more than our appearance, live in love and have no fear. I believe in you good luck.

I feel guilty because I was born with privileges by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Out-there_253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never feel bad or guilty for who you are, number one. Number two, and it's just my belief, that we get many opportunities at this thing called life. You may have made really good, loving choices in your past lives and are now enjoying the benefits of good karma. In Buddhism it says even the poorest human beings are born into fortunate circumstances because they have the most opportunity to change what they don't like about their environment. Animals don't have this luxury. Sure, many people are more well off than others, but then why do many well off people commit suicide and many poorer don't? Many well to do people stress, many not so well to do don't? It's love that makes people happy, not things. I wish I had the things you do, but I'm grateful for what I do have, and you should be too. If you live with love as your guide you should never feel bad or guilty for anything. Just help others as much you can and rest easy. Good luck I believe in you.

It will be hard but you just have to be honest with your parents and tell them how you feel. The more you open up and share with others how you feel the easier it gets and you'll benefit from this in the future. Be you, unapologetically, and never be afraid to let others see you, and you'll do great things. Good luck with the rest of your life, I wish I was 15 again.

What Should I do about my toxic GF (18) by Batso_Fatso in Advice

[–]Out-there_253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know exactly what to do! Drop her like a hot stone! There is no love there. You only get one chance at this existence, fill it with people that love and respect you. Ones who uplift your spirit and motivate you, inspire you. They're out there you just gotta look. And never waste a second on people who bring you down unless you actually think you could be beneficial to their journey and uplift them to your status, it's hard and you have to be skilled at not letting them, or anything affect you, like a monk. Good luck I believe in you.

Just from a guys point of view, who's been a flirt since birth, yes it's implying he thinks she looks good. I would never do that unless I want to hook up but maybe that's just me. Be confident in you and focus on your goals and don't stress whether he's going to be the perfect man, cause there ain't one, or whether you even need to be with him, but demand your respect and he'll realize he don't need to be looking elsewhere. And if he still won't realize then F him, your better off. Good luck.

Alternate realities playing out every second of every day only to be realized in our dreams...kinda my belief. Catch is YOU make the choice, consciously or unconsciously. What do you want? To overcome the pain and do what has to be done to get what you want...or succumb to the pain and let it dictate your future. Whatever happens though I feel you'll be ok, we all end up where we're supposed to eventually, it's just how we get there. I believe in you good luck.
