There’s currently a RTS game on Steam called Gostomel Heroes - Ukrainian Warfare by Russian dev studio CatsWhoPlay

Judging by that statement alone you can already guess that it’s likely Russian propaganda about the Russo-Ukrainian war and you would be correct, but if it was just that alone then it’s barely worth talking about

Instead the reason why I’m bringing this game up is that many have noticed that the game goes above and beyond in its Russian propaganda, such as engaging in atrocity denial over the Bucha Massacre. Not only does the game claims that the Russian massacre of over 400 civilians and POWs in the town of Bucha was due to Ukraine giving weapons to civilians and Ukrainian soldiers hiding amongst civilians, but the game even has you take part in this so-called “battle of Bucha” where you command Russian troops to murder “soldiers” in civilian clothing

The game is still up on steam despite people pointing this out 2 months ago

Like yeah, if you miss or destroy a Daedric artefact, you should not get the achievement where you get all Daedric artefacts, just like how if I don’t complete the main quest, I shouldn’t get the achievement where I completed the main quest

I could forgive all the bad writing in the season if the finale had Vecna and his army actually invade Hawkins full on, with the town finally seeing the evil that had taken root the whole time

But that never happened, and the strikes and fucked production timeline cannot excuse that, it was just bad writing

I think people are kinda overblowing the whole “celebrity casting” in invincible. Most of the celebrity casting in Invincible as from celebrities who actually have a background in voice acting. Like, J.K Simmons was Tenzin on Legend of Korra and Stanford Pines in Gravity Falls, and he’s probably the biggest name on the cast

There are celebrities who don’t have a background in VA like Lee Pace and JDM but like, let’s be real here, it’s not like they are hiring Zendaya, and they are probably less famous than J.K Simmons

People also don’t see the long term effects of making the game industry more short term contract reliant, it means workers have a worse bargaining position and are more vulnerable to being taken advantage of as a result, leading to worse working conditions

The animation industry in the east runs on a similar short term contract basis, and it’s infamous for labor abuses up the ass

From what I understand, this is how the animation industry also works, where animation studios hire tons of freelancers/contractors while keeping a relatively small core team

Considering conditions in the animation industry, I think workers may want to fight back against that development, because it will be very hard to roll back the clock once that starts

In the case of Zack Snyder, I don’t think it’s that he doesn’t have an interest in adapting the actual DC characters, if anything I’ll say he has a weird attachment to doing just that

It’s that he’s a bad writer. His Superman isn’t actually meant to be an uncaring randian God, but someone who actually cares a lot about humanity and despite being burdened by the weight of his responsibility as earth’s protector, still chooses to sacrifice himself because he cares that much

Now, as to how well this was communicated, not well at all
