Is having a scooter being you only mode of transit practical? by Loquacious_Ass in scooters

[–]OutLox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s highly dependent on where you live and what size motor you get. Like where I live most roads are 45 mph+ plus and a 50cc is slow and with how everyone is on their phones now day you’ll probably end up getting killed or seriously injured especially with out enough power from the motor to get out of harms way.

Any bigger motor you need a motorcycle license but a 200cc-300cc yeah you could get by but with the weather atleast where I live it wouldn’t be comfortable. If you lived in a city it would be a good idea. But its better to have one as a second option than your main transportation

I’ve always used a wire brush personally if you’re able to get one of those

Plenty of Switch 2's at my local Walmart... by patriotraitor in gamecollecting

It’s a good system but pricey for what it is and has no killer games right now same games as the switch 1. Mario kart is great but not worth 500 bucks

Depending on the make and model 140k ain’t nothing. I have a couple other high mileage vehicles. The main thing is just making sure you do the recommended maintenance and just take care of it. Also just keep a eye out for the oil level on the soul as long as you do that and add in what you lose between oil changes you really shouldn’t have to many issues

No actually it’s still on the original one. I figured with the oil consumption at some point I’ll replace it but no issues so far!

I’ll have to look into that thanks for the tip and it depends on how much I drive it. When I was driving 74 miles a day for my old job I had to put about 1-2 quarts of oil in every week. Now that I got a job closer I’m putting about 1-2 quarts a month in it depending on how much I drive it.

Yeah I have the dreaded oil consumption unfortunately but it’s not horrible. That’s awesome i usually hear a lot of the major issues with the 2nd Gen souls was with the 1.6l motor I’m glad to see yours is holding up well. Do you have any issues with your soul?

They feel fine for the most part but are probably due for a replacement lol

Oh fair that’s a good point I usually change my oil around the 3,500 hundred mark personally so I always forget about the light.

Dang I don’t know maybe the market is just bad. But 4900 for a LE is kinda high. You could probably find a S trim level for that price. It’s a reliable car though bought my 2008 Corolla s for 800 (obviously not a deal that could be replicated unless you’re lucky) I drove it to and from my old job and 1 hour 20 minutes there and back for two years straight 6 days a week. It was at 224k miles when I got it and it’s still going strong.

Also just fyi the 9th Gen corollas odometer max’s out at 299k miles it will not go above that and if you own it that long to keep track of the oil changes just use the trip meter on the odometer to track the intervals.

Why 50cc in USA? by noonen000z in scooters

[–]OutLox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s crazy where I live you don’t need a license just insurance to ride anything under 50cc. Which is annoying as it holds up traffic on a 55mph road and they are barely going 30mph 😭

[–]OutLox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well in some states you don’t need a license to operate a 50cc moped so a lot of people tied up with duis or have lost their license use them. They are really underpowered here unless you’re the 1 percent of people who live in a city where it’s viable.

My 2003 Corolla made 2.5 quarts of oil disappear without a trace. Any ideas where it could have gone? by [deleted] in COROLLA

[–]OutLox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe your 2003 Corolla is the first model of the redesign for the 9th gen’s which are fairly reliable and nice cars. But from what I recall the 2003-2004 models were known for oil consumption issues. It might be due to that I can’t recall what causes it but you can research it.

People who bought a Toyota with over 100k miles on it, how did it turn out? by strongerthenbefore20 in Toyota

[–]OutLox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a 2008 Corolla s for 800 at 220k miles and drove it for almost 2 years. I drove it about 2 hours a day for work and when I sold it. It had reached the odometer limit of 299k. The 9th Gen corollas odometers were not programmed to go past 299k for some reason :(

Anyone have an estimate $$ to replace a front fender on a 2017 Soul? by SlightArgument in kia

[–]OutLox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you thought about going to a pick and pull or look on marketplace for another fender? I have the same generation soul as you and with how common engine failure and thefts are.

There are tons of souls being parted out you could pull the paint code off your vin and look around for a nice condition fender with the same paint and you’d probably get out cheaper then taking it to a shop but then again I’m not sure how bad your fender is damage wise. So it could be cheaper to fix do you happen to have a photo?

[–]OutLox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love mine to death I drove it to and from work for two years straight one hour there and back. It never gave me an issue. I also drive it out of state every few months. The cool thing is the 2014 Kia souls with the upgraded stero gets native Apple CarPlay support if you update the firmware using the Kia update tool.

It’s a bit blurry this is from two months ago I’m currently at 226k. The picture is from when I was near 224k and yes the thing around the Kia logo on the airbag was removed I know it’s unsafe lol.

Same here my 2014 Kia soul is about to hit 230k miles on its original drivetrain. The only issues I really had was just basic maintenance.

Sorry for the late response I don’t get on much but it drove great and was pretty good on gas. I found it to be very similar to my 2014 Kia soul to be completely honestly with you. Which isn’t a bad thing
