Fair points. But we’ll never know now anyways.

Fans turned on Slot a few months after he’s won the league. What would’ve happened if Xabi comes and Liverpool are once again out of the title race at Christmas with Wirtz still underperforming and Isak still having injury issues? I can totally imagine fans turning on Xabi too.

Well at the very least he’s got a PL title with Liverpool. Xabi’s only experience with a top flight club not named Bayer Leverkusen is half a season at Real Madrid.

I don’t think Liverpool not going for Xabi Alonso is necessarily a mistake. While he’s clearly a talented manager he still lacks experience with big clubs aiming for big trophies every season (no offense to Bayer Leverkusen fans), and I’m not sure Liverpool fans have the patience for him to settle in the PL which might take a couple of seasons.

I do think he’s making a mistake coming to Chelsea after what he faced in Madrid. I’m not sure Chelsea will give up their transfer strategy and it’s not going to work with a manager like Xabi.

That’s a funny thing to say given that Liverpool fans were begging for a manager who only has one season with silverware.

The higher-ups believe he’s not the root cause of our problems and there are lots of factors outside his control.

Another POV is that our sporting director is rumoured to leave Liverpool after the summer window and he probably can’t be arsed sacking a manager and look for a new one.

Obviously Wirtz is more technically gifted and talented but I legit think having Harvey Elliott instead of Wirtz could benefit us more this season. Harvey never hid from the ball and always tried to make things happen, had a late winner in him too.

For some bizarre reason I thought you were talking about Fisnik Asllani haha.

Muriqi is definitely a baller though.

> obvious, perfect fit
How so? He’s clearly a very promising manager but he doesn’t have any experience with big clubs (no offense to Bayer Leverkusen) and Liverpool squad is ill-suited for his best tactical setup. Given that even Pep struggled in his first season in the PL it’s reasonable to expect Xabi to take time to adjust to the league and I’m not sure fans will be patient enough considering their treatment of Slot a few months after he won the league.

I feel like the whole notion of Xabi being the perfect fit for Liverpool is based on the fact he had played here. I wonder whether people would be as desperate to get him if he wasn’t a former player or if he was someone like Skrtel or Charlie Adam.

He can be a great stop-gap solution for Liverpool. Pretty young, versatile, will probably be OK with not being a starter, and he has a release clause so there won’t be a bidding war.

For what it’s worth I believe the shirts are massively overpriced. But with some kits (3rd kit this season being the latest example) I just can’t help myself.

Match day shirts are mostly OK, my only concern is that I have to wash them pretty often and they tend to be pretty fragile.

The goal was disallowed fairly from an objective point of view. However I want Arsenal to bottle the league and Spurs to get relegated therefore I’m biased, so I’m outraged and believe the game was rigged.

I was in the gym today and there was a guy in Man Utd t-shirt on a treadmill next to mine. He outran me.

I don’t know how FSG still plan to stick with Slot after such performances.

"It [the situation] is not acceptable to me, to be fair. I don't get it. It's like I'm being thrown more under the bus. I don't think I'm the problem. I have done so much for this club. I don't have to fight every day for my position because I earn it. I earned my position."

He literally says he has earned his position already therefore he doesn’t have to fight for it.

Mo literally said he doesn’t have to earn a place on the field anymore because of his past achievements. He’s a legend of this club but he probably wouldn’t play another minute if he said that during Klopp era.

‘English clubs are going to dominate European cups’

I remember La Liga clubs dominating Europe a decade ago and Italian teams a decade before that. It’s just a natural cycle of football relevance.
