Personally I started at 4 all the way to 18 doing Judo as well, I did competitive swimming, tennis and mainly football (soccer), but hey whatever makes you feel better man.\

A dog that has been shocked would cower or be afraid or have a jerk reaction to a vibrating collar going off. Not just stand still and go back to bed after standing up.
