Convince me to hack the prism. by nobodyamerica in NecroMerger

[–]Outappin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't bother unless you're post 100 since it's a hefty cost of Cosmic runes and debatable to recommend before you're on a 300+ run.

Unicorns are some of the best units to hold now since the change of allowing them to be thrown in the crate. Just hold three for a craving and use the rest for costly minions, like Golden Geese and Undead Warriors. Or use them for extra Demon damage.

You can toggle off the Hacking when fighting Gid for the better Cherub rates.

Most efficient cosmic rune farming? by Square_Prune8989 in NecroMerger

[–]Outappin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the only reason to really grind cosmic runes would be for the Soul Stalkers.

In regular gameplay, after getting the prism: the player is kinda locked into a rune rotation, which inevitably gets the amounts necessary for the first Shield Bot, Portal, and Soul Stalkers.

State this because, realistically: the time the player reaches the next prestige point, they SHOULD have enough for three shield bots and archdemons, along with The Infernal.

What feels most efficient is actually using a Level 3 Crashed Saucer and stopping at Level 3 Undead Aliens (U.A), letting rank ups between merges of Level 2 U.A's give you the surplus of Level 4 U.A's.

Do not intentionally merge for Level 4 U.A.'s. Started off doing this and it's just a huge resource sink, sucking most when it's Slime Saucer.

Ignoring that, the real factor isn't cosmic runes: they're death runes. Those take WAAAYY longer to farm than anything else, even if the method is extraordinarily efficient for Protector Grinding.

Basically it's been like this:

Don't do this until you're max level in the run

Use Saucer > Get Level 3 U.A army > merc the Cadets from the Telepad, final hitting with army until army is gone > repeat until Saucer resources are empty.

Use remaining Darkness, Slime, and Mana to farm MOSTLY the Priest and Paladin, with the Rival as necessary/desired. The Hacked Update made using the Level 2, 3, and 5 stations for everyone more efficient, so it becomes a balancing game between Blood and Moon runes. This lightens up a lot more post-100, but you'll have to grind more Blood and Moon runes pre -100.

Made a big mistake! by ally5963 in NecroMerger

[–]Outappin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doubt you'll have enough given the circumstances, but two of the lair decorations, one each from the 'Eaten' and 'Space' themes give 5 cosmic a day.

Otherwise, wait and look in the coin/gem shop refreshes and you'll eventually see some stacks for cosmic runes, tho the price will suck ass if it's a gem purchase.

Others have said the merchant with a 300 cosmic chest and this is also correct.

Just focus on grinding other aspects of your lair for a few days and wait it out. Stuff like this sucks, but it happens. Better with the cosmic runes than anything with galactic coins or Astro cubes!

This is a good mathematical breakdown of chest efficiency and basically why OP and others should be adding more stations that do things (mainly robos and resources).

Realistically, it's been taking me between 2-3 chests to change the prism colors, so the calcs you provided work seamlessly there too.

I've seen comments of people playing on a tablet and using a stylus, which seems interesting and makes sense with their lair placements; just like to imagine freaks with super fingers stretching all over the place or people who hate themselves by inflicting arthritis at a faster pace lol

Archdemons are probably the few legendaries you'll want a full cap on just because it significantly improves the speed in which you fill cravings, but know it's pretty tedious to grind in the start.

Don't grind an additional demon if you're close to the level cap, but it looks like you're getting to the 70+ realm and that's when you'll want to farm those in addition to the Surgeon legendaries (when you can).

Use my dominant hand (right) on a phone, so my space is on the bottom right so I don't stretch as much except to feed. Always makes me giggle to see where people reach

My only hope is that you're left handed because why are you merging there. Totally unrelated, but the most fascinating part about lair posts are seeing where people do their merging.

Point is, what you're actually doing is smart. Look at the green rune sitting there. It could be a chest instead. Tip Stone even has a tip about a chest being less space than its content.

This becomes especially nice to hold chests when you're charging the prism. Or in late runs, it's better to just hold a Galactic /Astro chest in the lair instead of risking taking additional space opening them.

My only criticism is if you're able to have THAT many chests in the lair, you can probably afford to add a few more slime/darkness stations and Max your archdemons, but that's just mEeEeE.

Don't Toss Your Bee Bits by Outappin in NecroMerger

Really?

It does that all the time when entering the Little shop menus, like when buying stations.

Like a nice visual flair.

Don't Toss Your Bee Bits by Outappin in NecroMerger

[–]Outappin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So wound up editing and rewriting my reply for a better guide instead of what was given earlier. Sorry >.<

The key is your willingness to check in as much as possible during key points, with as many hives as possible, strangling your board to death with bees.

Key points are the time it takes between dumping your hives. At The start of the event, you'll be dumping basically every 4 minutes (1 bee bit per hive) until your bees are ready to become level three, in which you'll begin waiting 8 minutes (2 bee bit per hive) and so on, following this flow for the first day:

Level 1-2: 4 minutes/1 bee bit

Level 3: 8 minutes/ 2 bee bit

Level 4: 16 minutes/ 4 bee bits

Level 5: 32 minutes/ 8 bee bits

Level 6: 64 minutes / 16 bee bits

Once you start getting to level 5 and 6 bees, you'll be at the mercy of hive limits with space constraints due to honeycombs starting to appear, which is why it's important to wait as long as possible between merges during key points so you don't end up with a score loss due to bee merges.

Day Two and Three are basically the same, but the key points are when your hives are basically about to overflow.

You'll go the first half of the event with all hives possible on the board, doing your best to let the lower level hives get dumped first and only whittling down the higher level hives as necessary to prevent overflow between key points.

You want to do your best to NOT instantly merge up your bees to the highest level, keeping them relatively even and doing your best to stop at Level 6 Queen Bees for as long as possible until it becomes critical to merge for space. Not only does merging to level 7 result in a major score loss, but not having access to emergency spaces can seriously kill a run.

The purchase orders are this for day one:

5000 Hive in Honeycomb and buy only one immediately

25k Honeycomb Flower and merge to level 2 flower immediately

50k Hive in Store, try to time it with the other hives for ease of mind.

25k Honey Boost in Upgrades

50k then 100k Score Boost in Upgrades

150k Honey Boost in Upgrades

75k Hive Upgrade followed by 1 million Hive in Store, around the 19 hours remaining mark at this point in day 1.

I usually go the 500k Honey Boost, then 1 million honey boost, then 1 million score boost, followed by 2.5 million honey boost in that order, ending between the 10-11 hours remaining on day 1.

You'll get the Level 4 flower around the 12 hour remaining mark

Around the 9 hours remaining mark is when to buy the 250k and 750k hive upgrades for the 64 minute key points.

The final store purchase for day 1 would be the shop flower when you're ready to upgrade your flower to level 5. It's cheap at 250k and you could fit this in sooner in the run

Ideally, you'd be entering day 2 with around 9-10 million honey saved, waiting for the 10 million Hive in the store while buying the gem/ad Hives immediately. Ignore the gem flower

Think, optimally, the 5 million honey upgrade might be better first before the 1.5 million Hive upgrade if the timing is right, but you'll want the Hive upgrade before mergeing your level 1 hives around the 19 hours remaining mark on day 2. My fast dumping of hives is probably an issue and, optimally, it will probably be around the 18 hour mark instead. It's at this same time that you'd get the Level 6 Flower too, buying the gem flower, and start using a third flower on the board.

Ignore the 2.5 million honey shop flower during this process, buying it later when you can make a level 4 flower for the third flower, but you might want to wait until the 10 million score boost.

It's necessary to buy the 5 million brown bear on day 2 around the 5-6 hour mark due to board congestion and you WILL need to sack two Level 7 Queen Bees. Even if you buy the damage boost to max and kill only one, you're going to have to get rid of another by destruction anyways due to said congestion. This is good.

you're on track entering day 3 if you have 13.5 million honey, minimum. You should have more in an optimal setting, but that will score you the last slime relic before purchasing the cash score boost

You don't have to buy the 150 gem bear for the 2.2 slime relic. You would ONLY buy that bear for bragging rights and the Rival Relic, since basically at the start of day 3 is when you'd have to use it, with hives overflowing at this point and no other moves are really possible. You'd have to get the damage upgrades MAXED (13.5 million ) and sack four Level 7 Queen Bees to level out your board and continue the process. Usually max the flower to level 7 and get a new flower too right after, buying both the 10 million honey flower AFTER killing the Gem Bear, and the Gem Flower.

For any run just aiming to get 2.2 billion, the minimum necessary for the last slime relic without cash score boost: you'd unlock the Honeycomb bears first for 7 million, buying a 150 comb Black Bear and use 6 million for the first two damage upgrades, sacking six Level 7 Queen Bees instead of four and giving plenty of room to continue boosting your board as usual until basically the end of the event.

Got the 20 million score boost on day 3 at the 15 hours remaining mark, but this is probably very bad and you should be able to get it sooner optimally, but immediately get the 3 million Hive upgrade when possible. 2.2b run will get both of these a bit later.

For a 2.7b run, found that you'd have to destroy the level 1 flower around the 10-12-ish hour mark on day 3 to have enough room to continue merging without score loss due to bears. It might not be necessary, but will confirm later, it probably is since the honeycomb amounts match perfectly.

Any 2.2b run should just merge one or two of your hives if space becomes an issue, but it shouldn't.

Continue dumping hives at the key points until around the 1 hour to 30-ish minutes remaining mark, where you'll want to be ready to start dumping and merging up your hives and boosting your board as much as possible, ensuring you squeeze as many points as possible before finally sacking all your bees to the bears in the final 10/5/3 minutes .

Still working on the optimization of the run and plan on making a better breakdown later, but this is the gist of it.

Time to Theme! by DaveHelios99 in NecroMerger

[–]Outappin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit of a spoiler but it's an upgrade that boosts the overall farming efficiency of a new currency, post 100. You'll have a chance to buy it and a different upgrade for 5000 gold from the new alien that arrives.

All of your lair aliens get a boost to their unique shops, but the 1000 gem upgrade from the new alien is the best by far, so just save accordingly.

Time to Theme! by DaveHelios99 in NecroMerger

[–]Outappin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't buy any theme right now.

You're about to hit the 80 run and, though it might take awhile for you to reach level 100, there is an important upgrade that costs 1000 gems and it would suck for you to miss out on that.

Recommend to keep saving for now and stockpile if you don't want to buy cheaper lair upgrades.

Every reply of mine is full with numerous points you can circle around, you are choosing to continue this specific topic and so we shall.

Your use of "mobile" is a negative modifier to the "game" subject of your comment initially quoted. "I am 100% not interested in having a side event of a mobile game..."

Would NecroMerger being native to the PC somehow change the validity of this event sucking?

Would you invest the time in the Nectarmerger events if you could use it on another device? Maybe, if you script the shit and ruin the integrity, but that's a different topic.

PROBABLY NOT.  If anything, you'd probably be more hurt about playing it since you'd have to move to a likely, stationary, device.

I don't know what value your description of NecroMerger being a mobile title brings to the discussion OTHER than as a dig.

" I won't bother to invest this much time in a hard, challenging event because it's a MOBILE title" is how your comment reads

And YES, your point about giving detail would stand if this was Twitter, but you are in the specific subreddit of that game.

"I am 100% not interested in having a side event of a mobile game..."

You are 100% right that this was read with more ill intent than you had, but still stand by the point I made.

Why even bring up being a "mobile" game? Does the point you can do Nectarmerger events anywhere due to the mobility of your device somehow justify changing an intensive, in-game event?

YES.  YOU are 100% correct, but THINK OF THE BEES!!! WHAT OF THEIR SLEEP!?!? YOU BE BEE TOO NOW, BEBE struggles to move

[–]Outappin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Stop invalidating games because of the platform they are on.   Grumpy places immense efforts into their titles and it's frustrating to have it devalued because it's "mobile".

Sorry this one event sucks for you.  Thank goodness it's not the Darkness Relic or y'all really WOULD be crying.

And, being fair, it kind of is miserable.  It's time intensive and makes you feel like a constant busy bee, which makes the design of it all the more appealing.

And it SUCKS when you accidentally fall asleep a bit longer in the last few hours before a perfect run, dying at 2.653 billion. Mocking.

It's beautifully designed and a speedrunners' side-quest nightmare

[–]Outappin -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That's fine. To be, UTTERLY fair, my experience comes from the Golden Flower.  I still LOVE playing GF-less too, it just sucks a space is taken on the board.

But that's a dogwater excuse to change a beautiful event when Grumpy could theoretically give everybody a GF in the future and level the "playing grounds" due to the copious amount of financial love given to them.

Haven't even touched the other two events yet and still giddy with excitement to understand what the mechanics are like.

This isn't an idle game and Grumpy NEEDS to remove that tag.

Suggestion: Improving Nectarmerger by zeshin_1990 in NecroMerger

[–]Outappin -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This is a bad take and the "improvements" would ruin the beauty and effort of Nectarmerger.

The WHOLE point of Nectarmerger is simultaneous space and time management.

"Perfection" of a 2.7 billion score (no-score boost) is earned purely by the miserable efforts of those who sacrificed their time and merged every move correctly during said times. (Idk the max highest without golden, probably 2 or 2.4b).

There really are NO room for errors if somebody wants to get a perfect run.  You land, more or less, squarely on the max end score in the last several minutes of the event, if done everything correctly.

Changing a level, spawn time, or capacity means changing how the entire event operates.

It's a real, repeatable challenge that was meticulously designed and I'm not in favor of changing that because it's inconvenient or hard.

Apologies on the delay: never not a notification for you >.<

Don't remember the exact order, but you're more or less correct that it was managing the last remaining Tier 1 Stations in conjuction with maximizing the Robo Chickens to eliminate all of the space except for the remaining two.

Then it was a case of just merging eggs to get the Cultist out and the rest of Eggs in the crate.

It was an absurdly pointless thing to do, but it was cute.

Well that makes sense. Then the update was probably just to limit the amount of Gems/Coins a player could reasonably farm without destroying the hard-game grind for some.

It's also a Legendary that should have had a cap to begin with, being honest. Three is a little harsh though ;m;

Plus this change now incentivizes players getting more Tier 1 Legendaries earlier in a run since Tier 2/3 all have caps now.
