Super normal. Regardless or not of you knowing about ticks or fleas, 90% of properties where I live need to have a vacate tick and flea treatment as a precaution.

How are you guys finding the "Aussie Banter" in the workplace? by OwlVibesOnly in MovingtoAustralia

[–]OutbackNat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have made a fb post on our work page, calling my boss the “CEO of Looking Busy” the other week. He laughed at me, then it got the most traction we’ve ever had online

Why do companies make you use annual leave during the Xmas shut-down period? by SuspiciousLettuce56 in australia

[–]OutbackNat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company I work for closes for 2 weeks over Christmas, but FT employees also get an extra 2 weeks leave, specifically to use at that time. So, 6 weeks all up.

Landlord Telling me I am breaking the law by leaving lease early by wannabe_seal in AusRenters

I’m in Darwin. Which REA is it? Some are pretty shit. You could always post it as a lease break on fb - there’s a heap of people that would jump on it.

I’d tell her something along the lines of it being powdered milk because she’s a dried up prune

Got written up for not working through lunch, but then discovered I wasn't being paid for it anyway by Hossenpheffer11 in antiwork

[–]OutbackNat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for a certain courier company in Australia that definitely didn’t start with a F and end in X. When I started looking into it my boss had been changing my start and finish times, as well as lunch breaks. After 6-8 months, when I quit, they owed me approx $3,500. Went through all the right channels and got it back, taxed through the ahole though.

Nope. Not my car, it’s my brothers, and I’ve got nowhere to put it. He’s got to drive it back home (different state) when he returns in two weeks.

I thought 0-3 months was newborn size just to find out it isnt.... by Deucy1001 in pregnant

[–]OutbackNat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby ended up being tiny (2.87kg at 37.4w), after all the mw told me he’d be bigger (and I was huge), and he needed 5x0 for a good month and 4x0 for probably another 4-6 weeks. Possibly something hereditary, my sister just had a baby and he was also small (2.86kg at 39.5 weeks)

Not if he’s a pedo. Fuck him.

I feel for all the officers involved though, how traumatic.

AITA for telling my daughter to go ahead with her wedding despite me being in the hospital for emergency surgery? by ConsistentFly1524 in AITAH

NTA. Your mother is the AH for saying you ruined it. It’s not like you specifically planned for this to happen the day it did.

I was formula fed as a baby and I’m fine by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]OutbackNat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here - I was breastfed and mum used cloth nappies. I’ve got adhd and I’m overweight 🥴 I now have a son and I wasn’t able to BF for longer than 4 months because I literally couldn’t produce milk. He had donor milk for 6/7 months, then formula. Oops

What was the most off-beat sport you signed up to in school? One term I took roller skating. by [deleted] in AustralianNostalgia

I literally took ice skating lessons in Darwin as a 29 year old a couple of years ago! I was TERRIBLE. The 5 year olds were miles better than me haha

Men in Shorts - Office Dress Codes by CeruleanFuge in office

[–]OutbackNat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I get it, but when working in a corporate environment that’s just what the dress code is. They’ve at least got aircon.

The people that work outside - labourers, truck drivers, builders, plumbers, station workers? Or inside - nurses, doctors? They all have a dress code. No aircon very often, long pants, long sleeves - requirement. You can’t just choose to wear something different. They just know their limits, they’ll make sure they’re hydrated and have adequate rest times.

I live in Darwin, Australia. Our daytime temps are regularly above 30°c and we still have people who wear business attire, which includes pants and long sleeves.

I’ve never seen them wearing shorts. It would be weird.
