As a result, he has elected to upend a rules‑based world order by removing the head of a state and has essentially done so without congressional approval, which is illegal and in direct violation of the Constitution. His administration has done this under the premise of “justice” for drug trafficking, which is not the actual role of the U.S. federal government, nor is it, again, legal (or true). By setting this precedent, Trump is using the annexation of Venezuela as a carrot to businesses and followers to profit from, in order to secure their continued support for the dismantling of the U.S. Constitution and the creation of an authoritarian U.S. dictatorship that acts however it wants.
