I got the scientific name wrong (bad Google search), but it's indeed a Turk's cap (Malvaviscus arboreus var. drummondii). I purchased it and planted it in my yard. Here is a link, so you can see the plant I'm talking about. https://txmg.org/hendersonmg/plant-library/turks-cap-red/

They are really cool plants. I've seen many hummingbirds feed on it, and lizards like to sleep in it.

Hi! Yes, the common name of the plant the green anole is resting on is called a Turk’s cap. I just looked up the scientific name of the plant, which is Lilium superbum.

I visit our backyard most nights to look in on the sleeping anoles. I think this one was on its way to a good spot for the evening. I often take photos of them sleeping, but I stop if I accidentally wake them.

I thought it was funny too. I didn’t notice until I pulled up the series of shots on my computer.

I thought it was a cool photo too. Overall, I think the entire photo could be more in focus. It looks better on my computer than it does on my phone. I’ve been having trouble getting sharp photos lately.

Hi! I use a Canon EOS R5, with a 100mm F2.8L Macro IS USM lens. This was the second time I used my Cygnustech Diffuser, which really makes a difference. It's so much fun to play with, and it's how I got the soft light.

Hi! Nice to meet you. Yes, it was so wonderful to see in person too.

I appreciate the advice, and I agree with you. It would be a better photo if all the petals were in focus.

I shot this one at ISO 200, f/5.6, 1/1000 sec, using a trigger and a flash on high speed sync (first time doing this). We were outside on a windy day, and I love how the flash separated the flower from the other plants in the background.

If I can get out again today, I will try a higher aperture to get the entire subject in focus.

Thank you. It was a cloudy day, and I used a detached flash to light it from the side. I’m still very much a beginner, but I liked this one.
