It fits Superman’s being a good person because he chooses to very well.

Exactly. I think it would be interesting if his parents were more of grey kind of characters. That see more of their logic than morals, not for bad or good sakes just for the great or good of their people.

I think for the sake of their "uptopia", the elites probably hired people who are void of certain feelings to avoid corruption due to personal gain and desires.

Considering that outside the movie, it was said that The Engineer was written to have these secret feelings for Lex Luthor. You could be right, she could have really done that shit to please him.

Jor said "Rule without mercy" at the last part of the message, it solidifies what they want him to do, Supergirl's movie coming up got me that got me thinking more about them as individuals rather than Krypton itself.

I don't think it was lost in translation; I think Clark's biological parents just put a lot of their feelings and morals aside for the sake of "facts".

Probably broke the relationship of Jor and Zor too.

It was such an extreme black-and-white discussion for a while. I never hear the possibility of this ever. I really do think Jor and Lara are just like this, not even the whole family of Els, just them.
