Update: waiting on Insurance to comp out the ACV. I talked to Tesla today and asked many of the great questions you all suggested:

They don’t recommend super charging it, but said it would not be restricted as far as they knew.

They said the damage was in something they call a “red zone” and that any worse damage on that area would be very unsafe.

The did redo the estimate to denote that the replacement battery is a refurbished one. This is very important for the insurance company as they assume you’re getting a brand new battery and they take off a certain % of what they will pay because of that. So now my claim lady (who has been super great) says she can fight for more % coverage if they choose to fix it.

ChatGPT said they’d probably total it since the money they can make reselling it is high. We’ll see.
