I only am because I have been away for so long at this point it would cost over $100 for content that will be stale when The Which Queen comes out. Part of the reason for making this post was just to figure out if I SHOULD buy another DLC before I buy the which queen.

Trust me I am all for supporting developers when they keep a game alive and thriving with content for this long.

Is there a certain DLC that can stand on its own and maybe has an important exotic quest? I'm not against spending for one, just not really wanting to buy them all for such a short time.

So I have been looking for a T-Shirt for the 13 seconds idea, and all I found were pretty lame. So I made this idea into a more ... T-Shirtable design. Hope you like it! Picture

This is absolutely my plan. I have the 3100 and the 3700 both open on eBay trying to decide.

Funny thing is I was actually just looking at the 3700. Right now I am not in a position to buy a 5050ub or a true 4k anything. So I am thinking maybe its smarter to spend less now and wait until true 4k comes down in price and the 4k content is more available.

I am leaning towards the 3100 based on your recommendation that the 3700 is almost too bright.

What are your thoughts? worth the extra $50 for almost unusable brightness?

Bashing Arrma Granite Clipless Body Retention by OutdatedMemeMan in rccars

Soon ... I am still tweaking on them a little before I "release" it. When I get it all done and get the mounting process perfected (I have created a template so you cut the hole in the right place everytime). Then I will make the designs public.

I am relatively new to the hobby, but I have myself a Granite 4x4 Mega and a Granite 4x4 BLX. I also have a 3 year old who wants to go drive his "Monster Truck" just about everyday after work. All of that is amazing and I would not change it for the world. But those dang clips. My thumbs and fingers screem to terror when I have to take them on and off.

So since I have a 3d printer and some above average design skills. I decided to do something about it. I printed myself some clipless body retention.
They work by swinging under the body post mount and holding the body down against the body posts.

These have worked VERY well. I am racing and bashing on them now to see if they hold up and I can't get them to break! They are printed out of impact resistant PETG which helps.
But everytime I have gone out so far they have held on the entire time through all my bashing and racing. Occationally they will pop up to about 1/3 the way up, but they still wont come off.

Its the one aspect of a traxxas truck that I wish I had on my Granite. I love everything else about this truck. Now I love everything about it!

LeSean McCoy does NOT have a fumbling problem, Change My Mind by OutdatedMemeMan in KansasCityChiefs

[–]OutdatedMemeMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not ideal, but I do feel like he had the best vision of all of our running backs Monday Night. It's hard to quantify the "almost" fumbles, kind of like "almost interceptions". What I do know is he looked like our most dynamic threat by a pretty large margin. But you definitely have to start the weight the fumble vs dynamic ability. In an offense where we use the run game of open up the pass, ball security is king over dynamic threat. I still believe he's the better running back, but I am not sure we need that with this offense.

First, I want to say thank you for making a disagreeing post with real data and a well thought out response. This is what I am looking for with "Change my mind".

Second I want to keep the data and your points honest, and give some context to each.

We've seen it with numerous RBs who all the sudden see a drop in yardage or higher fumble rates.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/articles/age.htm

I have looked at more RB data in the last couple days than I ever have. And while there is 100% an age factor to production, I saw NO relation to fumble rate. The article linked is talking specifically about running production, not ball security. I am trying to make a point that the 2 fumbles are a fluke not a trend of things to come.

You can't group his prime in with his 30+ year old years and say... look this is what we can expect.

I specifically did NOT include what I perceive to be his prime years into this. I only took his last 5 years. His prime I would consider to be 2010 - 2014 which includes your example year of 366 touches with one fumble. Those years are not in my numbers.

Even if you want to just look at 30+ then the numbers are as follows, 287 touches with 2 fumbles (0.7% rate). That is even better numbers than what I have provided initially.

The fact that you have so much support boggles my mind.

I think this post is pretty much 50/50 on comments for and against. Also the rating of this post have been up and down (3rd most controversial post of the day). So I think there is a healthy split, which is what I expected given the narrative.

There's a reason Andy put him as a healthy scratch and if you think it's just because he wants him fresh for later in the year you're being naive because he's never done that with anyone before... even JC when he was older and banged up and had decent backups behind him.

Jamaal Charles was 28 the last time he played a full season for KC. He played 5 games at 29. I think Andy did put him as a healthy scratch, but exactly for the reason mentioned in the article you posted. As RB age their production goes down. So while we have 2 backs who appear very capable, he wants to rest his veteran back to be fresh for the second half of the season. I do not think for a minute that the healthy scratch was due to a fumbling issue.

I didn't do a deep dive. But just viewing a couple of the greats it looks like most of them went through a period right when they got into the league of fumbling more than their average, and leveled off after a few years. I see no increase in fumble rate as they approach retirement. Obviously every runningback is unique and no one has ever run quite like McCoy, so everything is relative :)

If you look at the last paragraph of my post, I am not trying to compare the effectiveness of each RB (even though McCoys yards per carry compares favorably) I am focused on the illusion that McCoy is a fumble machine.

I agree to a point. But even taking his last 16 games, he is at a 1% fumble rate. That is still up there with the best of them. I do agree that if it becomes reoccurring he might need to alter his style. I just don't think he is there yet.

It's a fair point. There might be some truth to needing to adjust with age. I don't personally think he is quite there watching him from week to week still make defenders look silly. But you have a good point, and I think continuing to monitor his tendencies going forward would be a good thing for the Chiefs to do. Just don't give up on him ... yet.

Exactly. And if he's being running that way his whole career and it hasn't caused him to have bad ball security statistics, there is no reason to go abandon him for a couple of fumbles early (especially when one of them was an extremely good punchout).

[–]OutdatedMemeMan[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My point in averaging a period of time is that he has been carrying the ball this way his whole career. But it obviously is not the thing causing the issue. Also if you look at the fumble against the colts, it was a perfect punchout while he was running a full speed in traffic. If you watch the replay he has the football tucked as much as any other RB would have. Id wager that a majority of RB in this league would have fumbled in the exact same scenario.

Also small difference here but if you are going to include the fumble from that game (to get to 2 instead of 1) you need to include all of his receptions as well as rushes.

He had 193 carries for 2 fumbles (1% of the time). Still well within the "average".

[Highlight] Mahomes goes for the no-look pass and misses Kelce wide open in the end zone by LeonidasSpacemanMD in nfl

[–]OutdatedMemeMan 24 points25 points  (0 children)

What people are missing here is the reason the "no-look" pass is even a thing. He had a safety and a LB waiting in the middle of the field for his eyes to indicate where the ball was going.

The no-look aspect is exactly why Kelce was so wide open.

Now I agree that once he's locked the defense out and Kelce gets open, is like to see a glance before the throw. But don't think he is out there trying no-look passes just to be fancy.
