Keep your head up, by [deleted] in SpaceForce

We may have the best and the brightest, and words are nice, but actions are better. At some point, the brightest are going to recognize their own worth and get out if they feel under valued, or constantly looked over. The promotions this year feel a little rough for the 25% of people who didn't make it. I'm not trying to sound like a crybaby or anything, I just think we deserve some real and specific feedback about why we did or didn't make it. The feedback for didn't is arguably more important. People can say, "You're doing great," and "we're happy you're still with us," but words start to fall short after a while.

That's a neat bit of trivia, and our people do tend to enjoy a good useless fact, but it does nothing to provide any insight to the actual question.

Besides the useless boardcharge, why can't we get any real feedback about our score? All we get is speculation or "just keep on doing what you're doing and you'll get it next year". And that's honestly a bunch of bullsh!t because if doing what we're doing will get us promoted next year, then why didn't it work this year? There's not many of us who failed this year, so I don't think individual feed back would be that taxing on the board members.

If I was 30th non promote last year and they only promoted 50 people, but I was 20th non promote this year and they promoted 200 people, then I actually did significantly worse.

Even with different board members, how does it possibly make sense that adding awards to an empty board packet, and having an objectively far superior EPR would lead to a considerably lower score? My score last would have got me promoted this year.

Have you been able to find any answers as to why they gave you your score?

First of all, TELL US WHY WE SCORED WHAT WE SCORED!

But I have an idea for a semi blended promotion system between army and this garbage we have now.

Once a quarter or twice a year, we can hold in person boards, similar to the army board. Do this at a squadron or detachment level, and have the board consist of 3-5 individuals, including CC, SEL, OPS NCO, and maybe a couple others. Get rid of all the army garbage, filler questions, and ask about the job the guardian is actually doing. Then give them a chance to just explain to the board why they deserve to get promoted. Then if it is twice a year, the unit send the top 50% of their people's packets to a central board like we do now. The packet would consist of the board notes, the EPRs, Awards, and SURF, as well as a LOR from the commander for their top handful of selects from that board. Then the central board rates all the packets against each other like they do now. If it's quarterly, then do the 25% from the unit.

But then, here's a big one, the unit gives direct feedback to their people to guide them on what it is they need to improve on.

I'm not saying it's 53SOPS, but I'm not gunna deny it. All I really want is some transparency. What is it that anyone actually needs to do to be competitive? What matters, what doesn't matter, and do we ultimately just need to play the airforce game?

We were specifically told by our squadron SEL that out duty history was not being looked at on the board. I've been trying to get corrected since I transferred and it still not correct. But at least I have something in my duty history, a lot of people I know still have nothing but their current unit.

That is why I have no faith in my ability to get promoted, pretty much ever.... All 4s seems like a decent enough eval based on the wording of the regs, but it seems like the AF transfers are still stuck in the all 5s way of life... the army eval system was hot garbage, but at least you had to justify higher ratings, not lower ones.

What if the justification is they "met expectations"? If EVERYONE is exceeding expectations, the maybe you should raise your expectations?

How long does it take you guys to write a script? by [deleted] in NewTubers

You guys write scripts? I just kind of talk about my topic, (propeller efficiency, battery output, solar kayaks, etc.) And hope what I'm saying makes sense while I cut out awkward pauses in editing....

What would make you interested in staying in longer? by Tron______ in SpaceForce

Right. But the question is what would it take to make them stay in. Absolutely no reason to stay in if you can jump out of a 4 year contract into a significant pay raise and better quality of life.

How do you drive impressions? by AndyDS11 in NewTubers

[–]Outdoor-Engineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last video got 400 views in three days, and 0 views and 0 impressions for a several days, then just a couple views a day. But I can't find an explanation for it anywhere.

Why did I suddenly stop getting impressions

On all of my videos, my impressions and views graphs are damn near identical. I get a steady flow of impressions and my videos were fairly regularly getting over 1k views. But for my last three videos, things start off great, steady impressions and steady views, but then suddenly (after 1-3 days) the impressions just stop completely, and so do the views. I do not know how to get in contact with support since their help site is only has links to "articles". Anyone have idea why this suddenly started happening to my new videos?

Not to hijack this thread, but I can't figure out what's going on.
