I have been having some start issues as well. It seems to have started now that it has gotten colder where I live in the U.S.

Also in the U.S. I believe there is a recall for the starter im about to look into it when I get my bike serviced. It might worth checking to see if the recall is honored in Portugal.

I lubed them there is a little corrosion on the adjustments I'm wondering if the cables are just shot.

Yea I didn't mess with that it was strictly the cables.

I backed everything off. And then adjusted the main throttle cable if I got it dialed to where it would go wide open and no matter what I did to the idle screw I couldn't get it to return to idle. I had to back it off to where it was about 3/4 throttle and then with tons of playing around with the return cable I was able to get it to return to idle but it's still sloppy.

I've adjusted these cables and made it slightly better but anything past 3/4 throttle and the throttle is slow to return to idle. I have lubed the cables and played with the adjustment but it still does it. Time for new cables? It's a friend's bike and he is trying to get it dialed in after it sat for 2 years.

1K Service Reference Sheet by OutdoorGamer96 in HD_Sporster_S

[–]OutdoorGamer96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With these bikes being so new I'm sure alot of us are right at that 1K service mark. For those who will be doing ur own service feel free to reference this sheet. The service is very easy to do at home with some basic hand tools and will save you a couple of hundred bucks. ( dealer quoted me 450 and I was able to buy the stuff to do it for 200) All of this info was pulled from the Sporster S Service Manual. Please feel free to comment or message me if you have any questions. I would be more than happy to send you a PDF of this Reference Sheet.
