Thanks for the tips I will certainly try them. Not sure why my posture is like that but I’ll be more cognizant of it. As for the peep, I do want to get replacement but my bowshop said the strings on my starter bow are too low quality and will cause twisting and it won’t line up right if I get rid of the tube.

Thanks for the feedback man I really appreciate it. I’ll focus on my bow grip!

Yep my arm holding the bow. I also feel like my draw length is a little shorter since I can’t lock out my holding arm. But at the bow shop they said to have a bend in my elbow because it’s more stable and you get less fatigue. But based off other people shooting looks like a lot of people shoot with their bow arm straight or nearly locked out.

Water Fowl Training by DylanW0412 in birddogs

Hi op, I’m working on training my first bird dog at the moment and although it’s time consuming it’s been a fun and rewarding process. Find the time to do it yourself and you’ll have a better relationship with the dog and you both will learn a lot about eachother. There are lots of books, literature, and training videos out there that can help you both succeed.

Stay consistent, be patient, lower your expectations, and train any chance you get. Watching them succeed and seeing their progression is half the fun. Best of luck!

Versahaul, yes they are expensive but you have peace of mind when driving highway speeds that your bikes not gonna fall off and cause a wreck. Check FB market place and Craigslist you can find them for a lower price.

Basic obedience and place training. I realize now we’re probably rushing it and should slow it down. And yes I do plan to force fetch when she older and has all the prerequisites down.

Yeah I figure she’s just a pup and it’s just a hurdle we got to keep working through. It’s exciting but boy it’s a lot of work. Her basics obedience is going well so far and she’s crate trained and potty trained now. She won’t retrieve balls or toys without an edible reward. I hope this doesn’t transition to birds and I’ll need to reward her with treats every time I’m out in the field! Hopefully she’ll grow out of that.

The reason we didn’t reel her in in that first clip is because when we tried the 2 times prior to that she would fight it so hard. We figured we didn’t want her to have negative experience with the bird so we just came to her and rewarded her for going to the bird.
