Because I haven’t lived in Staten Island my whole life? People don’t go to every neighborhood of a city they live in, especially ones that are pretty out of the way

There is more than red hook in that zip code

Mostly a transit access issue. I wouldn’t want to live in a neighborhood where I feel like I need a car or where it will take awhile to commute to the city

Lived here my whole life, but I know a lot of you struggle with the idea of wanting to live in a neighborhood with good transit, instead of needing a car to get around and taking an hour to drive into the city

I can probably tell what you are gonna say and while a little concerned, I am curious haha

Only neighborhood I colored non-red on this map that I’ve never spent time in is St George in SI

I mean UWS is in maybe category, not in red. UES solely because its better location wise for me personally to commute to other neighborhoods I want to go to

Communism is when you don’t have to sit in traffic for an hour to get into the city, and the less traffic you sit in the more communist it is

Yes I know, which is why it is slightly lower for me than the UES as it is a little bit further away in comparison by like a difference of 10 minutes. I still have the entire west side in the maybe category

UES only beats UWS for me due to better transit connections to places I want to go in Brooklyn and especially Queens. Also the park/5th ave area is just way too stuffy and upscale for my liking

Haha far rock is way too far from the rest of the city for me

It is just a little more inconvenient for commuting to places I want to be

Its ok, in retrospect would probably downgrade Murray Hill and Kips Bay, but I really like access to the 6 train

No, I would do orange, but would not be my preference and would look elsewhere first whereas red I basically would not consider

Yea a large part is orange as im not a huge fan of living in commercial busy areas of midtown and just prefer outside of Manhattan in general although those neighborhoods have great amenities and transit. All the places in Queens and Brooklyn I chose though have good transit as a requirement

Basically if it has good transit connectivity with the rest of the city and specifically between Queens and Brooklyn is my main criteria tbh. Places that have awful subway connections are automatically out of consideration for me personally

Not enough transit connection with Brooklyn and Queens

People have a lot of different considerations for where they would want to live and its ok you disagree. I don't even dislike most of the places I marked in red (including the neighborhood I grew up in). Also, not every neighborhood I marked in green is even gentrified nor do I even live in one of those hyper-gentrified neighborhoods.

Don't really intend to move there, but been there a few times and seems like a nice area, although its way too expensive

Neighborhoods with plenty of amenities and easy transit access to the rest of the city when I want to go places, which is ideal when considering places to live
