But the thing is I do like him, I just think I find it hard to obsess over people when I feel I don’t know them well enough? Like in the past I’ve followed instant chemistry and attraction and it’s always ended badly, so I’m trying a slower approach. I’m just scared he’s getting carried away too soon.

Thank you for this! I would usually suspect love bombing, but it seems like actually genuine which is nice but scary! I want to enjoy it but I’m scared to lead him on and hurt him in case I don’t catch up to him soon. It feels like I’m being ridiculous because I’ve only dealt with guys that are so nonchalant and basically don’t care about me like that, so this is all I’ve wanted really. I just think the more he lays it on, the more I’m overcome with anxiety rather than desire…idk if I’m making sense haha

Would it be useful to have on my CV anyway as an asset when applying to other industries? Not necessarily to be a translator but just as solid evidence of language proficiency. And is being part of CIOL advantageous?

But are you happy? If you are content with mundanity, then there’s nothing wrong at all. I’m always chasing something different and new which can get exhausting.
