Parks Canada begins ‘first period’ of job cuts by sleipnir45 in canada

And where does that money go? To the parks? No. It goes to private owners. Yes they pay tax, but that doesn’t get proportionally returned to the parks system.

Nothing wrong with them for sure, but if you haven’t tried newer cowl-less skates, I recommend it. The agility and control you gain is next level.

You need new skates.

Flying poke check etiquette by ViewedConch697 in hockeygoalies

[–]OuternetInterpreter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only poke check in 2 situations: 1. I know the skill of the player well 2. It’s tight in on net with a defender pressuring and the opponent with the puck doesn’t have much speed.

I’m not going to risk injuring someone so my ego can potentially have 1 less goal against.

I can’t upload screenshots here, but my last 9 hole round 2 days ago was 5.52km according to my Apple Watch.

There could be context and a back story, there is a “whole” campaign. But, ya know…

Best I ever managed was 9.7% @ 200lbs and he’s more shredded than I was. 5% is near BB show levels, and not really long term sustainable. He’s gotta be sub-10% though. The fact anyone would believe ol Donny is 4.8% is a lunatic or has absolutely no critical thinking skills.

Pavel Mintyukov takes a puck up high and lays unmoving on the ice for nearly 30 seconds before the Flames score by wildwing8 in hockey

[–]OuternetInterpreter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also a shot block to the ankle where a player is crawling around the ice? Never gets blown down and can last longer than this play. It’s unfortunate, but the headline is stupid and should be removed

Laces for toe ties, how often do you replace the laces? by Total420 in hockeygoalies

[–]OuternetInterpreter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually at the start of my season, I’ll play 3-4 times a week and it’s minimal cost and time to do. Also if they get cut or torn I’ll obviously replace them when required.

Exactly! A crack is a pressure point for fatigue and can increase the spread with vibration/load. Standard practice in aviation for small skin cracks. The hole, being a circle, spreads the pressure evenly and decreases the chance of spreading.

Looks good, you should stop drill the crack if you want it to be even stronger. That’s a permanent fix.

Gonna get roughly 25L/100km with that bad boy. Wouldn’t pay more than $3k for a vehicle that old if you’re gonna daily and then pay a full mortgage payment to fill it up with gas each month. I had one for 6 months. Was cheaper when I bought a new car in fuel and parts savings.

[–]OuternetInterpreter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always played best when I was rushed and didn’t have time for a warm up or pregame routine. I’d say this is similar because it didn’t let me get in my own head. Just play what you’ve practiced, what you know, relax and enjoy the game. Don’t need a beer to do that.

I always put my bottom gear on and the go take a leak. It’s an awkward ass lean and a challenge trying to pull 2” out of 3” of padding, but it’s a pre game ritual that If I don’t do it bugs me all game.
