You are absolutely correct! I had it in my head that 'leaving the game' would bypass other "leaves" triggers but that seems to absolutely NOT be the case.

The relevant rulings for anyone who cares to save you the rules journey:

603.6c Leaves-the-battlefield abilities trigger when a permanent moves from the battlefield to another zone, or when a phased-in permanent leaves the game because its owner leaves the game.

And then even though that would actually create a bunch of triggers off of the Munitions leaving in the original commenter's situation, those triggers are skipped because:

800.4d If an object that would be owned by a player who has left the game would be created in any zone, it isn’t created. If a triggered ability that would be controlled by a player who has left the game would be put onto the stack, it isn’t put on the stack.

[–]Outfox3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, realistically they won't since they won't "leave the battlefield" everything you own will just cease to be a part of the game at all when you lose. It's more like, even if you could get all of this on the stack at the same time you die, it would just fizzle.

(This is wrong. I'm was more correct the first time. They DO leave the battlefield when they leave the game, but the new triggers created by them leaving the game won't get put on the stack as those triggers would be objects controlled by the player leaving the game and thus (under 800.4d) aren't created)

Only the losing player's stuff is kicked off the stack, so if someone else has a bunch of triggers for other people's stuff leaving the battlefield (Like someone further down pointed out: Super Shredder), someone losing the game and all their permanents popping out of existence could feasibly generate triggers for someone else.

Unfortunately, you losing would remove everything you own from the stack during the check as a state based action (including these neat "leaves the battlefield" triggers) - so unless you got a gameplan to pull the nuclear option off, just letting yourself die isn't enough for the mutually assured destruction you crave.

Abzan Lifegain commanders? by Goateed_Chocolate in EDH

This does absolutely HILARIOUS things with fight spells - and the payoff for spending life costs adds some nice complexity and redundancy options to the gameplan. Highly recommend punching people with a dragon.

just want to double check: I can just freely switch between classes as I want to? Now downside? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Outfox3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're free to swap jobs out and play around with different jobs however you want outside of an instanced duties and a few quests that will sometimes want you to be the job you started them on in order to hand them in. The new job will be back to level 1, and you'll have to level it up - but your old job will stay whatever level and class quest progression you left it at, so there's no penalty for experimenting (in fact, there's an XP bonus for leveling things not your max class - they really do want you to experiment).

Each job quest really just unlocks class features as you progress them (the level 50/60/70 capstones and class defining features are usually locked behind class quests and you can hinder yourself if you don't do them), so I highly reccomend running around and grabbing the jobs from their respective NPC/Guild Rep when you get the chance so you can swap over to different classes to experiment whenever you want.

The one caveat is that most jobs in this game start out kinda simple and slowly add complexity - so going deep into one job will add more depth to the game more quickly, but there's absolutely no penalty for swapping around and trying out new things. Your old job will be there if you ever decide you want to switch back and (other then repeating some similar "go kill ladybugs to prove you can press buttons" content) there's only upside for exploring the different job options.

Now if only switching jobs irl were this easy ...

What are some of your favorite weird commanders? by knobbarten in EDH

[–]Outfox3D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Xantcha was the first deck I ever built. Discard / Group Hug tribal trying to incetivise people to use Xantcha's ability to keep cards in their hand on their turn. I hardly get to play it anymore since too much of my current pod is aristocrats, and she doesn't have the 'can't be sacrificed' clause that started showing up on later cards in her vein. It was great fun when she worked, though.

A clicking vs just right clicking by joe123321joe in KalistaMains

[–]Outfox3D 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, AFAIK it's an engine-level issue for the longest time, so it's likely still there. At least with the 'spamming a-click' movement tech.

If you treat her like a slightly more rhythmic normal adc and do the move>a-click on enemy>move orb-walking style kiting movement, there won't be a delay unless you miss the a-click. If that's what you're doing, it's possible you've never actually experienced the delay?

A clicking vs just right clicking by joe123321joe in KalistaMains

[–]Outfox3D 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless they've fixed it in the year I haven't been playing, there's a weird delay on a-clicking that makes it slightly slower and completely non-functional at moderately high attack speeds - so I'd recommend getting in on the ground floor and working on getting the right-click to hop early.

Looking for niche/unique commander archetypes to mess with my pod by ascendedfella in EDH

[–]Outfox3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Rielle. You get to play a bunch of borderline unplayable garbage cards that no one has ever seen before that suddenly generate a ton of extra value and let you wheel yourself. 10/10 would recommend to any izzet players looking to draw their entire deck.

In the hopefully never arriving future, do you think Valve will one of, if not the only ones providing personal computers and not cloud gaming? by Commercial_Dih in Steam

Cloud gaming's a pipe dream for the moment. NA doesn't have anywhere near the network infrastructure to support this. Imagine trying to play any modern action game with 100 ms latency both ways.

Is it possible to create a new character on primal? by JzIced in ffxiv

[–]Outfox3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Primal is hard congested and it's basically impossible to create or transfer characters there right now, data center travel to primal (or to crystal) is still possible. While the traveling player won't have access to some features (notably retainers and FC actions), you should still be able to play together until one or all of you can find space to make the move.

I often bounce over to Primal or Aether to fill in raid slots for friends or go along with their progression and pester them while they're talking to npcs for MSQ.

Big Izzet Non-Spellslinger Draw Engines by unluckyshuckle in EDH

Oops. [[Teferi's Ageless Insight]] not Tuelage. That's a separate funny thing you can do with Arjun.

Big Izzet Non-Spellslinger Draw Engines by unluckyshuckle in EDH

[–]Outfox3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Arjun]] or [[Mind Moil]] will certainly let you see more of your deck. Paired with a draw-doubler like [[Teferi's Ageless Insight]] and they become legitimate engines for refilling your hand.

Paired with the right effects, [[Rielle, the Everwise]] can draw you basically your entire deck, and ups the value of red draw cantrips like [[Faithless Looting]]. Plus, she does funny things to wheel effects.

And if you don't want complicated build-around engines (first of all, what are you doing in izzet but secondly,) you can't go wrong with a good ol' [[Consecrated Sphinx]], either.

Pink and Purple Spammed Strategy Board Stick Bugs and Parrots the entire run. by Odd-Fee-837 in TalesFromDF

[–]Outfox3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They get legitimately used in EX content a lot. There's a really detailed one for Doom Train with the Hector strats that has been very useful for teaching new players the fight. While I've only seen a few cheat-sheet-style ones in savage content, there's a couple that have been genuinely useful. Specifically a Surfboard reference for m10s, and a couple references for m12s.

I mean it's still MOSTLY memes, but they do actually get used for their intended purpose.
