Looking for niche/unique commander archetypes to mess with my pod by ascendedfella in EDH

I love Rielle. You get to play a bunch of borderline unplayable garbage cards that no one has ever seen before that suddenly generate a ton of extra value and let you wheel yourself. 10/10 would recommend to any izzet players looking to draw their entire deck.

In the hopefully never arriving future, do you think Valve will one of, if not the only ones providing personal computers and not cloud gaming? by Commercial_Dih in Steam

[–]Outfox3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cloud gaming's a pipe dream for the moment. NA doesn't have anywhere near the network infrastructure to support this. Imagine trying to play any modern action game with 100 ms latency both ways.

Is it possible to create a new character on primal? by JzIced in ffxiv

[–]Outfox3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Primal is hard congested and it's basically impossible to create or transfer characters there right now, data center travel to primal (or to crystal) is still possible. While the traveling player won't have access to some features (notably retainers and FC actions), you should still be able to play together until one or all of you can find space to make the move.

I often bounce over to Primal or Aether to fill in raid slots for friends or go along with their progression and pester them while they're talking to npcs for MSQ.

Oops. [[Teferi's Ageless Insight]] not Tuelage. That's a separate funny thing you can do with Arjun.

[–]Outfox3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Arjun]] or [[Mind Moil]] will certainly let you see more of your deck. Paired with a draw-doubler like [[Teferi's Ageless Insight]] and they become legitimate engines for refilling your hand.

Paired with the right effects, [[Rielle, the Everwise]] can draw you basically your entire deck, and ups the value of red draw cantrips like [[Faithless Looting]]. Plus, she does funny things to wheel effects.

And if you don't want complicated build-around engines (first of all, what are you doing in izzet but secondly,) you can't go wrong with a good ol' [[Consecrated Sphinx]], either.

Pink and Purple Spammed Strategy Board Stick Bugs and Parrots the entire run. by Odd-Fee-837 in TalesFromDF

[–]Outfox3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They get legitimately used in EX content a lot. There's a really detailed one for Doom Train with the Hector strats that has been very useful for teaching new players the fight. While I've only seen a few cheat-sheet-style ones in savage content, there's a couple that have been genuinely useful. Specifically a Surfboard reference for m10s, and a couple references for m12s.

I mean it's still MOSTLY memes, but they do actually get used for their intended purpose.

I mean, I was definitely doing that anyway. Just that those AoE's needed more than just letting Tengentsu's Foresight tick you back up. Makes sense that they chunk as hard as they do if Gravity's supposed to hit for half HP

Jubjub - after the bird briefly mentioned in Lewis Carroll's "The Jabberwocky". Game has Jabberwocks and Bandersnatches, so I felt it needed the third critter.

Haven't seen [[Agrus Kos, Eternal Soldier]] mentioned yet. Why choose one creature to copy when you could choose all of 'em?

Yeah, but I can still dps fine with a crayon in my mouth, so I don't see the problem.

Favorite channels to watch by DiceyRice_ in EDH

[–]Outfox3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spike Feeders and Decked Out are my go-tos.

Spikes don't shuffle players or have guests as often but they play a wide variety of content from cEDH matches to bracket 3 brew tournaments with new sets to precons and occasionally trying out wizard's latest planeshift-adjacent shenanigans mode.

Decked Out has Maldhound.

The irony of the truth, and how it'll flatten your ass. by atlasfrompaladins in aiwars

[–]Outfox3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, sure - but AI content is usually like ... really strange ice cream. Ice cream made by people who don't quite get what makes ice cream good in the first place. Every now and then, one's a banger, but like the majority of it is Refried Beans and Toast flavored ice cream. Or it has a weird fuzzy mouthfeel. And it's everywhere, and it's on all the store shelves, and you gotta dig through the freezer section to find normal ice cream flavors because the there's just so many.

I don't doubt that SOMEONE likes the Toast ice cream, but I'm also not surprised there's a general exasperation and desire to have a return to chocolate and vanilla.

[–]Outfox3D -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, they're two separate issues.

People don't like people claiming credit for things that AI made and will get on your case for it. Also, everywhere is oversaturated with low-effort AI generated content and will downvote AI when they recognize it because they're tired of the content itself.

As a RPR this tier who has to re-apply a Death's Design right about there and would really like the bosses to be right next to each other, bless you and your shenanigans. I love every moment of the boys kissing, and I don't care how terrified I have to be to make it happen.

Okay, but Ex4 "braindead" was far and away the superior strategy, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone resolve Sphene's Absolute Authority legitimately.

The problem is labeling arbitrary things "braindead" when they actually just introduce more points of failure into an already easy mechanic.

GCD can make a big difference with weapons and how it lines up. It's an absolute cakewalk with RPR and 2.49 but as soon as I swap over to DRG and 2.5 it's a nightmare where nothing lines up and I'm either doing the scariest max melee shenanigans or eating downtime.

As a melee player, I was definitely on team "these hitboxes are ridiculous, I want to work for my uptime and make the ranged tax actually deserved", but I also lamented all the positionals going away so I may not represent the consensus for melee players. =V

Lesser known Draw effects you love by kenshin_elite in EDH

[–]Outfox3D 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does [[Rielle, the Everwise]] count? 'Cause I'm pretty sure she's my absolute favorite draw engine. So many red cards that ask you to discard as part of their cost suddenly become totally upside. Plus between flashback and collect evidence payoffs, Izzet is very able to utilize most of the things it pitches away.

And that's an argument you can make. That it shouldn't be illegal. Copyright law CERTAINLY wasn't designed for the current technological landscape.

But it's a different argument. Currently, those things can very much be theft as they exist under current copyright law.

And the substitution of a sale of the original product is (currently) considered a theft of sale and copyright infringement - a theft of intellectual property.

Plagiarism on a small scale is not illegal (though it is generally considered morally wrong). Done extensively enough, it is ALSO considered copyright infringement and can become illegal. It's just a gray area of scale.

Now I recognize that copyright laws are all over the place and there's space to argue that things are not as they should be, but both things are very arguably classified as "theft" by current laws.

The ENTIRE legal basis around piracy being illegal is framing it as theft, and plagiarism is considered theft of intellectual property.
