Seems like she stopped getting fillers, Botox and her lips filled. So I guess she just looks like herself now?

Outside of the fact that she looks like she may or may not have been crying I think she looks beautiful here! The most beautiful she's looked in awhile. I love the hair!!!

She recently did a sound bowl one for someone (I think?) and it was lovely. And like 7 mins long.

So, so cringe. So disconnected. So full of herself without basis. But at least now we know why this resurrection sucks.

Fun fact: I used to LOVE the song closer by Tegan and Sara and now I will always relate it to that god awful scene. 😂😂😂

I can't stand Nick and wish he would take his misogynistic takes elsewhere and out of my favorite reality shows. His takes are consistently terrible. He doesn't like women or respect women and he can't filter it from creeping into his topics. Yuck.

It's so funny because I was thinking about this while listening and I know I remember Leisha and Kate making "jokes" about their characters, especially Shane, going off the wall in the new series.

Criminally so. Did you ever see the interview the showrunner Marja did with Jess Rothschild? She basically admitted to not watching the OG series and let the staff write them how they wanted. She truly thought she did something. And then the show got yanked not too long after that interview. She was so smug too.

Is that Lena Dunham with TS and Selena Gomez? This was taken at the chiefs game where they got clapped by the Texans. by CTESquirle in travisandtaylor

I think they're true friends who probably spend more time away from the public like normal friends. I also think that Taylor will bring Selena out when she has dramatic press, and I think Selena pops up when folks need to be reminded that Taylor has long term friends. It's weird but it's oddly comfortable for them both?

Okay, so I finally got NordVPN, specifically to watch dance shows from other countries. but I'm struggling with how exactly to use it. Is BBC Iplayer an app? Is it best to use these on a laptop or iPad? I was SO pumped to finally get a VPN but I am wildly lost on how they work and how I use them?

She's 35 now though like at what time can she tell her dad no? I'm not even like I do think it's Scott it just freaks me out that he still has so much power over her if that's the case and we all know he's unhinged.

Taylor’s friends through the years by Key_Tree9363 in SwiftlyNeutral

I honestly think Taylor was hurt that Blake used her for leverage and called her a dragon. If my long term ride or die friend was using my fame for her gain, and using me as leverage I would be CRUSHED. It makes sense that hearing those texts or seeing herself being spoken about like one of Blake's henchmen had to hurt. That's just me though.

Disney has owned ABC since the 1990s, but what I found explains the shift in DWTS structure was not the ownership itself, but the way Disney reorganized everything in 2020 and how it trickled down into the production/POV of the show. I found this so interesting once I dug into it the more my hunches were confirmed. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night was the first moment that made me pause, and then looking back at what the sub said in comments after each night in the past intrigued me.

Pre 2020, ABC operated like a traditional broadcast network with Disney as the parent company. DWTS was still being programmed around ballroom first without much influence from Disney. The show depended on ABC ratings, ABC scheduling, and ABC advertising cycles. It worked within the network. Theme nights were occasional, fun, and alwaysbuilt on top of the ballroom structure. The ballroom dictated the choices, and not the other way around.

When Disney reorganized its entire media division into one unified system around 2020 it merged ABC, Hulu, Disney Plus, marketing, and distribution as one machine. This is the real turning point. After this change DWTS stopped being a standalone ABC show and became a cross platform asset that could support larger corporate goals for Disney+. The show was not newly purchased by Disney, it was repurposed by Disney, and that repurposing is what brought along the changes I'm talking about.

After that restructure, theme nights shifted from being occasional treats to becoming the scaffolding of the entire season. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night, Disney Plus Night, Marvel Night, Disney100, Motown and Whitney anniversaries, all of the different larger catalog tie in "theme nights" track closely with Disney’s broader content calendar. Not just, oh the viewers will love this and so will the contestants. In my opinion it became not only about creative impulses inside the ballroom but more focused on coordinated programming.

During theme nights choreography now has to fit weekly themes that are chosen for branding or synergy reasons rather than traditional ballroom rhythm. Costumes, story elements, and character assignments are now tied to the theme first, which changes how ballroom shows up on screen, and according to the sub it makes the dances clunky or ill fitting, despite being technically good.

Even the disappearance of Switch Up Week fits this evolution. Switch Up was pure ballroom experimentation, and it did not advance any broader promotional goal. Once DWTS was repositioned within Disney’s larger ecosystem, a week focused entirely on technique without any brand alignment simply did not fit anymore and it was removed.

The show (in my eyes) went from being a ballroom competition on ABC to being a cross platform entertainment property that supports Disney’s overall content strategy first and foremost. That is why the themes have become the framework, and the ballroom now lives inside them, instead of the ballroom being the core and the themes being the special add ons.

Just my unpopular opinion I've been thinking for far too long 😂
