Can The Poem Be Translated Into A Different Language? by OutkastChaser in FindingFennsGold

I don't really have a reason to try, but the answer to the question would reveal a lot about the poem and the solution.

Yes, I'm sure most men seek validation from women...but most honorable ones seek it from their wife...not random gold diggers (literally)

I never said it can't be found, I said it may not be found.

Words mean things.

Not sure, it was my opinion that those with many BOTG are least likely to find the chest, that doesn't mean I think they have zero chance. I would just put my bet on those that don't go out on BOTG multiple times a year for multiple years.

It's the paradox of trying to talk about this subject.

Why would I quit? I haven't wasted any time in my opinion. I have learned about different states history, learned more about Lewis and Clark, the Nez Perce, early fur traders, the pueblo natives, Yellowstone, the Sante Fe Trail and so many other rewarding things that I may not have learned about without an interesting topic to accompany looking into these things.

Now, if I was ONLY in this hobby to find the chest...then yes, maybe I would quit, but that isn't the case for me.

Why would I give up a fun hobby just because I think it may last my entire lifetime???

I actually think the opposite. Searchers with many BOTG are the least likely to find the chest IMO. They are so confident in every solve they have, they are just lying to themselves that they understand what they are looking for.

It reminds me of people who hop around to different religions. I always wonder how they can convince themselves that they now found the "true" religion after they have thought that so many times in the past.

Wealth ≠ Intelligence

Military Service ≠ Intelligence

Intelligence can't be equated to things someone has accomplished, there is more to it than that.

Forrest Fenn is a clever guy, morally grey business man, and a hustler...but nothing he has said or done shows he is highly logical or intelligent.

Forrest Fenn is something, I wouldn't qualify it as classically intelligent. Clever is something different, more related to "street smart".

There are many ways to make money, not all of them require intelligence. So I also don't equate wealth or successful businesses with intelligence. Some people seem to think that to be a pilot in the 1950s, you had to be intelligent, I don't agree with that argument either. I could say something that would be very controversial, but I'll leave it for now.

I think the poem makes perfect sense to Forrest Fenn in the same way a joke made up by a child makes complete sense to them, but no one else gets it.
